Project Life is Coming!

Have you heard the amazing news?  Scrapbookers take note!
Project Life is coming to Stampin’Up!

*Happy Dance* around the room.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Project Life – it is a scrapbooking style created by Becky Higgins.  Scrapbooking using Project Life is so simple and easy – but it doesn’t look boring and mundane….and it’s coming….in the new catalogue release in July this year! And it’s going to match the Stampin’ Up! colour range. That means inks, papers, ribbons, you name it! So you can dress your pages up as much or as little as you like!

Wow! Are you excited??????  I know I am! I love Project Life!

You can read more about it here from Becky’s very own Blog!

And check out this Youtube clip about it here.

Petal Cone Die Cake Box

Hi everyone!

I am super excited about this project. I spent most of the day creating it yesterday, and then filmed the video last night.
I have seen these cake boxes before, but I have not been able to find a tutorial on how to make it. I scoured the net a couple of days ago and came across one created by Sharon Field at createbyu.blogspot.com, but I found the tutorial a little tricky to follow and her box opened at the top and I really wanted a box that would close properly at the back so I could fill it with whatever I wanted.
The decoration however came from a picture on Pinterest from Elizabeth Hurst. The picture has her blog as animalscraps.blogspot.com, but I couldn’t find a tutorial for it ๐Ÿ™
So the task was set. I REALLY wanted to create this cake, so I set about working out how to do it SIMPLY! The biggest barrier is that even a 12″ piece of card stock would not fit around this cake slice. I didn’t want a join at the point on the front of the cake – it needed to be a nice crisp fold. So after a few hours of trying (and getting it wrong) and a few prototypes later……I DID IT!
Here it is…….. What do you think?  ……    Good enough to eat!
It also looks great with a white ribbon tied around the middle.
You can find the YouTube video here showing how to make this.
Feel free to recreate, but I would appreciate linking back to this post. I would love to see what you make ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Congratulations

Hooray,

I finally managed to upload a video to youtube! My first ever video….I’m very excited. My plan is to try and do more of these in the future, so stay tuned. If you sign up to receive my blog posts you will know every time I add something to my blog. I promise not to overload your emails. I try to add something at least once a week.
So the card I made was using the Happy Congratulations Stamp Set and Happy Watercolour, with this years in colours, vellum and the saleabration DSP’s. You will be able to make this card with just a small amount of DSP. I like to refer to it as my ‘floating lanterns’ card ๐Ÿ™‚

Scallop Tag Topper Easter Box

Now the title says Easter Box, but this gorgeous little box could be used for any gift.

I found a tutorial on Pinterest for a smaller version of this box.
I really wanted to be able to add a bigger hunting Easter egg to the box, and I wanted to be able to see what was in the box.
I have made this box with an a Good Egg Easter. I made another with the gorgeous little petite petals stamp and punch.
I also used the punched oval shapes to add ‘eggs’ to an Easter card – I always try to use my ‘scraps’.

Market Night

I got to attend my very first market night last week.  I have been so busy prepping for it and having enough stock ready for the night.

The feedback was really positive from people who attended, so I was thrilled.
I had a really successful night and would happily attend another one….especially seeing as I still have some stock left ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are some pics of my table.

Those Lego cards were VERY popular and I had a lot of interest in my classes.
Insert ‘happy dance’ here!

Paper Flowers

Ok, well I know I am SUPPOSED to be finishing off everything I need to do for my market stall on Friday Night….but I came across these gorgeous paper flowers and just HAD to have a a go at creating them.

I used some retired DSP for my practice set, but I am imagining them in all sorts of beautiful colours, especially in coastal cabana from the Eatern Elegance DSP, or the black and whites from Modern Medley…I think I will definitely have to put those on my next order!
What do you think?
Good for a class?

Wedding cards

Apologies for not having posted in a while.  I have been soooo busy trying to get a stash ready for my very first market night! I am very excited….fingers crossed it all goes well!  I have also had my official launch night and some classes…combine that with work, being a mum and ‘real life’ it’s been a super busy month or two!

So I thought I would pop past and show you some of the wedding cards I have made for said market night. I totally CASEd them, but I figure when you’re this busy and cards are this good, why reinvent the wheel – right?
So here they are. Hopefully next time I pop past, it will be with some great pics and stories from the market night ๐Ÿ™‚

Card in a box…again!

I must say that I absolutely love the card in a box craze! I am having so much fun making different versions and different colours of the same version.

I made this one for a friends birthday. We always go out for coffee, so I thought, why not at the coffee to the card. I wouldn’t have been able to post it, so it was a good thing I was handing it to her!

Made with a retired stamp set and papers, but in our beautiful in colours!

Scrap Cards

At our team day we were inspired by one of the presenters to make the most out of all of our scraps.

Now I keep just about every scrappy piece and off cut of paper that I ever get.  I always think…I’m sure I will use that one day for something!
Well, I was hit with inspiration when I was happily crafting the other night.  I decided to use my paper scraps in a similar manner to how you would use washi tape…now I am sure I’m not the first person to have done this, but I haven’t seen this type of ‘scrappy card’ before.
So everything you see on these cards is simply my off cuts and scraps of paper. The flowers were stamped on scrap ( I NEVER throw out a white scrap), and the leaves were cut from some small off cuts that had score lines in them that really couldn’t be used for anything else.
So what do you think? I encourage you to give it a try and use up all of those scraps lying around. Feel free to show me your results ๐Ÿ™‚

Lego Cards

I am really happy with the way these lego cards turned out. They are my version of a few I have seen on Pinterest. I must say though, they are very tedious as I sponged all of those 1/2″ circles!

I would have loved to do a girl version, but apparently the ‘friends’ lego are slightly bigger than the figures used and don’t fit into the clear cups…so I am thinking of a girl version using a necklace or similar…what do you think?
I have made these ones for the market night that I have at the end of this month. It will be interesting to see if they are popular!
