CTC 125 – Favourite Bigshot Project!

Hi crafty friends and welcome!

It’s Sunday night, so that means it’s time for another CASEing the Catty blog hop. I’m pretty excited about this weeks challenge! We get to showcase our favourite Big Shot project from the occasions catalogue!

How hard was it to choose! I mean, the Occasions Catalogue had so many great Big Shot projects. The Lift Me Up Bundle, Custom Tee’s, Nailed It, So Succulent Bundle and not to mention the So Detailed Thinlets, Cool Treats and Dragonfly Dreams!

But for me – well, let’s just say that I am an absolute sucker for a box – so my choice for this weeks challenge just had to be the Window Box Die.

I had seen a picture from Pauline Barnfather at icreatecraft, who had designed a timber like box. I immediately fell in love with it and have been wanting to create my own version since. So this was my chance. I really wanted to create an antique style box, that reminded me a little of an old jewellery box. Some Soft Suede cardstock stamped with the Hardwood stamp helped me easily achieve that!

I am so happy with the way it turned out. Once I created the box I knew it needed some beautiful flowers to top it off. I haven’t created these flowers for a few years now, so it was fun to really play and make them again. I used the Flower Shop stamp and co-ordinating punch to create them. Here’s a better look at the top for you.

Luckily I had kept hold of my retired Antique Brads from a couple of years ago. I think it really enhances the antique feel of the box perfectly and acts like a little handle to lift the lid open!

CTC118 – Cool Treats Poppin Box!

Welcome back to another CASEing the Catty for hop for this week! Have you been creating away? Have you been using the catalogue for inspiration? This week for our challenge we are creating from the Cool Treats Section in the catalogue – so ANYTHING from pages 32 – 45!

I myself have recently been playing LOADS with the Cool Treats suite! Yes, the entire suite! Well it’s so …… Cool! Lol. The stamps, the framelits, the designer paper, the sprinkles!!!! Have you tried it yet? I took inspiration from it all!

I have created a few cards with this suite, but this week I wanted to share with you a fantastic Poppin’ Card Box that I found by a demonstrator called Gemma Clarke. They are quite popular right now and with good reason too! The box POPS right out of its case when you pull it open! It’s such an interactive card.

You can even stamp a message inside the box base or use this area to write your message on! They are fantastic for vouchers too. They are the perfect size for movie tickets!

Candy Cane Lane Mini Cup Treat Holders

A big hello to you all!

I don’t know about you, but the madness is ramping up and I am soooooo busy this time of year at my house! As December approaches, I like to try and give my class attendee’s a little christmas gift that they can take home with them. So seeing as it is so busy – my aim is to find ideas that are quick, simple and well…….gorgeous!

I came across these cute little coffee cups and a quick search on pinterest helped me find exactly how to create them, thanks to a UK demonstrator called Heidi Smith. I loved them, so whipped some up for my class attendee’s for this week and demonstrated how to make them on my Stamp it Sunday live Facebook video.

How cute are they!!! Fast and simple and the gold ferrero rocher sets off the Candy Cane Lane Paper beautifully!

The measurements to make your own –

A piece of DSP 5 3/4″ x 3 1/4″.

Score the long side of DSP at 7/8″, 1 3/4″, 2 5/8″, 3 1/2″, 4 3/8″ and 5 1/4″.

Score the short side at 1″ and 2 1/4″.

Handle piece is 1/2″ x 3″.

Gift Box Punch Board for On Stage Roomie Gifts

Hi everyone.

I was back on Sunday Night for a Stamp It Sunday live Facebook video again!

It took LOTS of cups of tea to recover from the fun of our Stampin’ Up! 2016 On Stage Live Event from the 3-6th of November, but it was sooooo much fun! There are lots of new goodies that I am going to enjoy sharing with you all over the coming weeks to get you creating!

Here I am after check in – ready to get started!

The weather was gorgeous the entire time. And Southbank was buzzing in the evenings!

So for my Stamp It Sunday Video I decided to show you the pillow gifts I made for my room mates!

I had been to LUSH to source something to help the girls relax, unwind and invigorate themselves ready for the new catalogue and next year. LUSH have the most amazing bath products. I had come across one called ‘Dragon’s Egg’ in the past and it smelt amazing, all the things I just mentioned for the girls rolled into one delicious bath bomb! So I grabbed a few of those and headed off to my craft room, trusting that my punch boards would help me package these beauties just right!

So out came the trusty Gift Box Punch Board. I honestly have to say that I love how simple it is to create your own special packaging with these Punch Boards. A simple Belly Band and some ribbon later, and our bath bomb was all set to deliver!

The Irresistibly Floral Speciality DSP can be teamed with any colour Designer Paper, but I chose Blooms and Bliss for my Belly Band, a bit of Coordinating Sweet Sugarplum ribbon and a tag finished it all off beautifully. So simple – So elegant! And those Stitched Framelits set EVERYTHING off so well! They are a must for every craft room!

Here are the measurements so you can Make It To –

My gift box is a 10″ x 10″ piece of DSP to make the 3.25 x 3.25 x 3.25 box as written on the Punch Board.

The belly band is made my cutting 2 pieces of DSP 1 3/4″ x 7″ and scoring them both at 1/2″, 2 1/4″ and 5 1/2″.

Join the pieces along the 1/2″ end – joining right sides together. Punch the opposite end of both of the Belly Band pieces using the scallop tag topper punch. Wrap around your box and secure with ribbon.

Gift Bag Punch Board – bags for any occasion!

Hi everyone,

Today I wanted to pop by and show you just how easy it is to use our Gift Bag Punch Board to create bags for any and all occasions.

The Gift Bag Punch Board is one of those tools that I have found I cannot live without. It has helped me out on many occasions when stuck for a quick packaging idea. They make great party favour bags, bags for jewellery, makeup, lollies, chocolates, little thank you gifts, christmas gifts…..you get the idea! I have even made minion party bags using this tool where the kids for the party decorated their own bag as a minion before filling it up with goodies to take home! It was a HUGE hit!

And one of my favourite things to do when I can, is making a matching gift bag and card! Such a cute idea. And imaging, you can create personalised cards and bags that suit the individual! Its all in the decorating and paper choice!

Here was one I created for my video – because I love the Pop of Paradise Stamp Set and my daughter LOVES flamingos, so I know it will come in handy shortly for a little gift of makeup, nail polish or jewellery!

Of course there are lots of other ideas you can create, not to mention all sorts of sizes! The possibilities are endless.

You can even create boxes with this tool by omitting to score the 3 lines to create your side fold. Instant box!

You don’t have to punch holes to thread ribbons. You can close the bags using any fancy clips or pegs you may have on hand.

You can even create a flap to fold over on your bag like this one.

Here’s how you cut your bag to create that flap.

Score your card stock as normal.
Turn your cardstock / DSP so the straight edge is now against the punch on the board. Move the card stock/ DSP edge along the board until your large scored area that is along the right hand edge of your card stock / DSP is under the punch, with the edge of the cardstock / paper in line with the punch point on the board. Punch the corner.
Move the cardstock / DSP along to the next score line and punch and then score along the horizontal line.
then move the rest of the cardstock / DSP along the punch board just scoring along the horizontal line. Refer to image 1.
Then trim along the score line up to the punch mark. Refer to image 2.
Fold and adhere as normal.
You just need to make sure when creating this type of bag, that you allow an extra 1 1/2 inches in length for your bag for the top fold too.

Sweet Stack Project Kit

I have had the Sweet Stack Project Kit sitting around here for AGES just begging to be made, and then when I finally pulled it out to complete it, my Early Espresso ink pad needed reinking – alas – it was one of the few reinkers I had not purchased, so it had to wait a bit longer.

I have been caught out a couple of times – so I vowed never to have to wait to craft again, and have all my reinkers now tucked safely away ready to use when needed!

When I finally got to sit down and complete the project, I was thrilled with the final result. The kit has everything you need except the ink pads and matching stamp set (highly recommend it) and was super easy to follow and complete! The boxes even have the adhesive already applied for you!

I changed my colours up from the kit and used mint macaron on all my cake edges. That meant I also had to make my own banner pieces – but I think it was well worth the effort!

And I haven’t added the candles as I want to be able to use it for all occasions.

I also have the Cutie Pie thinlets die so I can make more cake pieces whenever I need to.

Fantastic for birthdays, christmas, gifts…any occasion!

Christmas Tags in a Box

Don’t you love giving personalised gifts? Birthdays, thank you’s, babies and of course Christmas all allow you to create some lovely personalised gifts sets and tags.

I sometimes struggle with gift tags. I want them to look really good, but in such a little space to work with i often find it difficult to create the effect I am after.

This Christmas however, I found it reasonably simple. Our gorgeous ornate tag topper punch and scallop tag punches made tags very simple, along with our lots of labels framelits and beautiful stamps and DSP.

Pull out your gift bag punch board and make a matching card, and you have a complete gift set! You can also use gift tags to decorate card fronts too!

Timeless Elegance Chest of cards

I have had the tutorial for this chest of cards for AGES and have never gotten around to making it. But this year, seeing our Timeless Elegance Designer Paper, I knew I had to make it.

I’m definitely a vintage kind of girl – so this DSP is easily by far my favourite in the current catalogue. How good does it look on this cute chest. It makes the perfect gift for someone.

I made matching cards in the same colours, and matching envelopes for the gift cards with our neutrals envelope paper and envelope punch board.

Bouquet Bigz Die Gift Box Topper

I Finally got to have a play with my Bouquet Bigz L Die found in the occasions catalogue….and I was so impressed with the result! It makes flower making so darn easy! I really can’t wait to create some more of all the different sizes.

The paper used is the Best Year Ever DSP.

I used the Stampin’ Up! You tube clip to guide me in making this flower. My version was really very big and topped of the box I had made using the Gift Box Punch Board really nicely.

A quick tip when making gift boxes that use such a lovely big decoration on the top – turn the box so it can still be opened from the bottom, so your hard word isn’t destroyed in the opening of the box!

Scallop Tag Topper Easter Box

Now the title says Easter Box, but this gorgeous little box could be used for any gift.

I found a tutorial on Pinterest for a smaller version of this box.

I really wanted to be able to add a bigger hunting Easter egg to the box, and I wanted to be able to see what was in the box.

I have made this box with an a Good Egg Easter. I made another with the gorgeous little petite petals stamp and punch.

I also used the punched oval shapes to add ‘eggs’ to an Easter card – I always try to use my ‘scraps’.
