CTC 146 – Season of Glitz using Painted Harvest

A big hello to everyone.  Thank you for joining the CASEing the Catty Crew for Challenge Number 146.

This week we are focusing on the Season of Glitz Section in the holiday catalogue on pages 20 -27 of the new Holiday Catalogue.

This week I have decided to show you how to CASE (Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit) Season of Glitz to create Painted Harvest Mini Pizza Box Gift Cards.

I had held out for ages before getting this set…as in, it just arrived this week!  But i could resist no more after seeing so many beautiful projects created with it.

I’m pretty time poor this weekend, so I took inspiration from the card on page 27 of the catalogue –

They looked cute, quick and catchy.  When I pondered what set to use to base my design around, I knew I had to use the Painted Harvest stamp set!

The flower would make the perfect circle for the centre, and I really wanted to try out the new Mini Pizza Boxes – so I decided to create a little box of gift cards.

CTC 146 Mini Pizza Box Gift Cards using Painted Harvest by Stampin Up

I couldn’t put the sentiment in the middle without obscuring the flower, so I stamped it on vellum and adhered to the bottom of the gift card.  I then just popped my ribbon off to the side of the sentiment.  My bling came by using the Wink of Stellar Glitter Brush, which is pretty difficult to see in pictures, but trust me – it’s there!

The colours for this set use Wisteria Wonder and Fresh Fig.  The best part about the two step stamping for this set – there is no lining up! Yes thats right – no lining up required!  I didn’t have the coordinating DSP to help decorate the Mini Pizza Box, so I created my own using the little acorns in the set!  I fell in love with them. They are so adorable and took my back to the time I used to play on the oval at school and collet acorns and pop their little hats off!

Another great bonus using the mini pizza boxes – we now have 3″x3″ envelopes so making gift cards is super simple!  And the boxes are food safe! So many things to love!!!!

I loved them so much in fact I created another colour sample –

This colour combination was Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral.  It’s stunning!

And the whole suite of what I created today.

I love how they turned out.  So much so that my customers who place an order in September will be receiving one of these as a special thank you!

I hope you love them as much as I do!

Don’t forget to take the whole hop, and then pop on over to our Facebook page and upload your lovely creation by next Sunday night too!

Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Rebecca Scurr to see what she has created for you all.

CTC 140 – Babies, Kids and Pocketful of Sunshine

Welcome to CTC 140, where this week the crew are taking inspiration from cards in the Babies and Kids section of the Annual catalogue, on pages 102 – 111.

Such a fun section of the catalogue to CASE!

This week I really wanted to show you that even though we are using the Babies and Kids section – you don’t necessarily have to make a babies and kids project.  You can take inspiration from any designs in the catalogue and create them to suit your need.

So here is the image I used this week –

You may remember last time I played along with this category, I CASEd the card on the right!  This week, I am CASEing the card on the left.

I hadn’t inked up my Pocketful of Sunshine yet and was dying to get it out for a play!  For this challenge I teamed it with Beautiful Bouquet Bundle and created this card –

CTC 140 - Pocketful of Sunshine and Beautiful Bouquet by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

Instead of stamping onto the background, I pulled out our gorgeous Embossing Paste for a bit of extra fun and texture to the card.

White craft ink gave me the stitching on the pocket and as much as I love the sentiments in the Beautiful Bouquet set, I decided to leave this one blank for now, so I can pop on a sentiment when I decide the destination of the card 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this weeks creation.  Don’t forget to hop all the way around and come back and upload your design to our Facebook Page HERE.

Now its time to pop over to the lovely Simone Bartrum and see what she has created for you all!

Happy Creating!

CTC 137 – Artistic Expression with Rose Wonder

Hi everyone and welcome back to CTC 137.

You may have noticed that I missed last weeks hop.  That’s because I was away on my very first cruise having an absolutely amazing time and a much needed break!  But I am back and ready to go!

I also wanted to say a very big WELCOME and CONGRATS to our new crew members! I am looking forward to playing along with you and all the amazing upcoming guest designers!

This week we are taking our inspiration from the Artistic Expression Section of the Annual Catalogue on pages 132 – 181.

There are LOADS of images to spark creativity this week, so I do hope you play along and upload your creations to our Facebook page HERE!

I found it so difficult this week to choose just one project.  This is one of my favourite sections of the catalogue, with a load of my favourite products to play with.  So in the end, I chose to CASE an image on page 162, using the Rose Wonder Stamp Set, to play with a technique I haven’t used in a while.

This technique is called the Stained Glass Technique using Vellum.

You first stamp and heat emboss an image on the vellum, the turn it over and colour the image on the back of the vellum, creating a stained glass look.  You can colour with markers or sponge the image for the look you desire.  I chose to colour mine with our Stampin Write Markers using Calypso Coral, Watermelon Wonder (retired), Pear Pizzaz and Wild Wasabi.

Stained Glass Technique for CTC 137 using Rose Wonder by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

I use the different shades of colour to create depth in the image coloured and then mounted the vellum on Whisper White Card to really highlight the colouring.  I then HAD to add some of our new Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon and some Gold 1/8″ Ribbon and mini sequin trim for some extra sparkle!

It’s a pretty cool technique, so I encourage you to give it a try. It works best on ‘open’ stamps that allow to to apply a fair amount of colour.

Now it’s time to head on over to the lovely Elizabeth and see what she has created for you all!

Happy Creating!

Colour INKspiration 11

Hi everyone! Are you ready for another Colour Challenge???  Well get ready, because we are back for Colour INKspiration #11.

Play along every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month by using the given colours to create your own work of art, and then upload it to our Facebook Group right HERE.

The colours we get to work with for this challenge are Early Espresso, Marina Mist and Soft Suede.

Marina Mist is one of those tricky colours for me – a bit like a love / hate relationship. I love it – it hates me when it comes to using it! Lol.It’s one of those colours that I really struggle with for some reason.

Anyway, I was very grateful that my new order arrived in time for me to have a play with some of our lovely new goodies! And I combined those with some old favourites.  I have been itching to use the new embossing paste, so one way or another it was going to end up on my card.  I did get the decorative masks to go with it, but I really wanted to create my own with one of our lovely dies from the Rose Garden Thinlets.  So I set to work…

Colour INKspiration #11 by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Rose Garden Framelits and Embossing Paste by Stampin' Up!

It’s a bit hard to see on the image, but I have the brand new Sheet Music Stamped lightly in Soft Suede in the background, and then used Timeless Textures to add a more vintage feel, with the flourish embossed with copper.

I used the large rose image from the Rose wonder Dies as a mask, trimmed of the leaves and secured the image in place with a bit of washi tape, before adding a few drops of Marina Mist Ink to a small amount of embossing paste and carefully spreading it over the mask.  Carefully remove the mask whilst the paste is still wet and there you have it!

Have you noticed the little curls to the copper trim bow – it is so easy to do – just wrap it around a toothpick or similar and it holds the shape!  Unfortunately I had to mask a little boo boo with the sentiment –  the card wasn’t going to have one initially, but I ended up with a blue splodge from the stampin write marker when flicking Marina Mist specks over the card front!

Now it’s time to pop on over to Monique’s blog and see how she has used this colour combo!

CTC 132 – Birthdays

A big hello to you all and welcome to CASEing the Catty Challenge #132, where this week we get to CASE the birthday section of the catalogue!

Everyone has birthdays (whether they want to or not! Lol), so this is a great way to hop around and see everyone’s projects so creating your own birthday cards is a breeze!

I had to create a special 50th birthday card this week for a friend.  Not only is she a friend, but she is also my downline and loves card making too (Yes Lynda – this one is for you!).  I don’t know about you, but I find they are always the trickiest people to create cards for! And a 50th has to be a pretty special card.

I was struggling with just what to create, when I picked up my catalogue and started flicking through the birthday section.  On page 80 I came across this image …

Now I know it’s not exactly a birthday card, but I love 3D cards for those ‘special’ birthdays – so this got me thinking and playing around with ideas, when my mind was drawn back to a gorgeous creation I had seen by none other than one of our very own crew members – Bronwyn Eastley!  She had made a stunning foldable card using the (now retired) Botanical Blooms and the Window Box Dies.

You can see her original post HERE with the link to see how the card is made.

As much as I love those Botanical Blooms, I wanted to use one of my most favourite floral current products – Tranquil Tulips (yes…again…)!

CTC 132 - Birthdays by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Hostess Set Tranquil Tulips by Stampin' Up!

If there is one downfall with this set – its that there is no matching framelits 🙁 So let me tell you ….there was a LOT of fussy cutting!  It’s just as well that I actually like to fussy cut (just ask my class ladies! Some are not so fond of it as me! Lol). You will definitely need a good pair of scissors for this one!

There was even more fussy cutting than you would expect, because I made the tulips appear more 3D by cutting and adhering the top layer of the stamp on the front of each image.

CTC 132 - Birthdays by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using hostess set Tranquil Tulips by Stampin' Up!

It looked sooooo pretty in real life! I was really happy with how it turned out! And – it folds flat for popping in an envelope and posting!

Did you know that Stampin’ Up! have an extra special opportunity to get this Hostess set this month?  Host a qualifying workshop, party or place and order of $450 and you get an EXTRA $45 in rewards! That’s at total of at least $90 to spend on anything you like!!! Contact your local demonstrator to find out more!

Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Kelly Kent and see what beautiful project she has to share with you all!

Happy Crafting!!!!

Pennsationals Team Blog Hop with Tranquil Tulips

Welcome everyone to my awesome team and a fantastic blog hop to kick of the New Annual Catalogue for 2017-2018!

Take a hop around and see the team showcase some of the stunning new products to inspire you and get you creating!

There are sooooo many lovely new products to fall in love with in this catalogue – so I am glad I have a whole year to collect them all!  Do you have a favourite yet?

Tonight I wanted to showcase one of my favourite hostess sets.  I think it is stunning, yet so simple to create lovely works of art with it!

I am of course talking about the Tranquil Tulips stamp set!

I created my first card by CASEing the one in the catalogue (CASE means to Copy And Share Everything).  It’s a great way to have a first play with a new set and get a feel for it! In fact – there’s a whole Facebook group dedicated to CASEing the Catty!

Pennsationals Team New Catalogue Blog Hop by Mel Pagano from My Paper Oasis using Tranquil Tulips stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Isn’t it just gorgeous! This stamp set really makes it easy to create these tulips with simple two step stamping 🙂

So after a bit of a play I was then able to come up with my own design.  This time I coordinated it with some of our new Designer Series Paper and the new Label Me Pretty Bundle.

Pennsationals Team New Catalogue Blog Hop by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Tranquil Tulips Stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Don’t you love that new DSP!!! It is part of the Daisy Delight Suite but goes beautifully with the Tulips too!

CTC 131 – Everyday Occasions

A super excited HELLO to everyone tonight from the CASEing the Catty Team for hop CTC 131!

Why so excited you may ask?????

Because it’s NEW CATALOGUE TIME!!!!!!

Thats right – the Brand new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue has just begun and we have a whole year ahead of us to CASE the gorgeous new projects!  And you can join in too. We have made it super simple! Just make your own creation and upload it to our Facebook Page – right to the wall – no album necessary! Its that simple!

So take the hop…be inspired….and upload your own design HERE!

This week we get to CASE anything from the Everyday Occasions section of the catalogue on pages 18 – 67.

Thats A LOT of pages to choose from! Do you know how hard it was to narrow down! Lol.

But eventually I did!  I chose to showcase some of the items from the gorgeous new Wood Words Suite. I have been using it so much since I got it!

And I have two cards to show you, both CASEd from different projects in the catalogue.

My first card takes inspiration from the card in the image above.  I have stamped the flowers for the background and heat embossed with white embossing powder directly on to the Wood Textures Designer series Paper.  I then used the new copper trim to make a ‘mesh’ over the image before stamping and adhering the sentiment and heart in the new Fresh Fig colour.

CTC 131 Everyday Occasions by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Wood Words Suite by Stampin' Up!

It’s a bit hard to see the mesh effect of the copper trim but you create it by cutting a long piece of it and then cutting it down the length to ‘open’ it, as it’s like a tube.  Then just spread it and adhere pieces to suite your card.  Here’s a close up…

Such a quick and simple card where the background does most of the work for you!

My second card was based on these images …

I have this stamp set and I love these cards, but have yet to make them … but for today’s challenge I changed it up a little … you see, I had so many little pieces of the Wood Textures DSP left after making 17 little crates for my Launch this weekend, so I tried to replicate this look using those scraps!

CTC 131 Everyday Occasions by Mel Pagano from My Paper Oasis using Wood Words by Stampin' Up!

I think its a great way to use up all of those scraps!

Have fun taking a look at all the New Catalogue Inspiration!

It’s time to hop on over to Rachel’s blog and see what she has created for you this week!

Shaving Foam Technique

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m back to share my Stamp it Sunday Facebook Live video on how to create brilliant background using the Shaving Foam Technique!

It’s so simple, so messy and so fun! And just take a look at the stunning backgrounds you can create.  The skies the limits with hundreds of potential colour combinations!

Here is my favourite so far!

Shaving Foam Technique by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set by Stampin Up

My boys actually choose these colours – My youngest said his favourites are Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo, then they choose some of the new Powder Pink!  It matched the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set beautifully.  I was lucky enough to win this at the demonstrator On Stage event! I was one very happy girl!  This one was created with a lovely friend and downline in mind and it has already been sent to it’s new home!

Shaving Foam Technique by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Daisy Delight from Stampin Up

These two were created using Wisteria Wonder, Flirty Flamingo and our new Lemon Lime Twist reinkers!  Teamed with our Daisy Delight bundle to create some lovely Gerber’s.  You can highlight different colours from your batch of shaving foam.  These two still need sentiments which I will save until the right occasion arises!

Shaving Foam Technique by Mel Pagano from My paper Oasis using Scenic Sayings from Stampin Up

Great for smaller card with big bold sentiments…

Shaving Foam Technique by Mel pagano from My Paper Oasis using Daisy Delight from Stampin Up

Or use the patterned card to create your embellishments!

So many variations! I encourage you to try it!

You will need:

-shaving cream (cheapest one will do)

-something to squirt your shaving cream in to (I used a plastic plate)

-reinkers in colours of choice

-something to swirl your colours

-something to scrape the foam (i used an old iTunes card)

-whisper white cardstock

Take a look at my You Tube Video to see exactly how it is done over at My Paper Oasis.

And then go get messy and have some fun.

CTC 128 – Favourite Kit

Hi everyone.  I seemed to have been MIA the past couple of weeks as I prepared for the Picture to Page show in Pakenham.  But I am back this week for another awesome CTC Challenge!  This week we get to CASE our Favourite Kit from any Catalogue!

I do have a couple of favourite kits in the catalogue – especially the Watercolour Wishes Card Kit. But for todays hop – I decided to try something a little different.  I have always liked the Perfectly Wrapped Kit on page 159 in the current Annual Catalogue, but it was one of those kits I never actually got around to purchasing!

I thought it was such a bright fun kit, and just a bit different to our usual kits with all its fun packaging.  I had so much fun creating for this challenge!  I had never thought to CASE a kit before!

So today, being Mother’s Day in Australia, I thought all that cute packaging may just come in handy for some lovely little gifts!

I used the Grateful Bunch stamp set and Blossom Bunch Punch to base my mini kit around.  I am just a bit sad this set is retiring! I loved the lace and the triple flowers that you could layer together were so quick and easily … not to mention that is my most favourite butterfly …. sob…

Anyway – here is what I came up with!

CTC 128 Favourite Kit Projects by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Stampin' Up! Grateful Bunch and Blooms and Bliss DSP

I created the gift bag by using our Kraft Tag a Bags (also retiring).  I simply stamped the bag, folded the base and adhered the corners underneath to create an open bag.

The Clear Tiny Treat Box was simply decorated with some hand stamped Whisper White card, scored and folded for inside the box, with a belly band wrapped around and a cluster of flowers popped on the top.

And instead of creating the cello bags – I CASEd the design and turned it into a card to suit the occasion!

The sentiments from this suite really do go well with the Mother’s Day theme.  I hope that where ever you are today, and whom ever you consider your ‘babies’, that you are having an amazing day! Every woman is fabulous and deserves to be treated special xx

Don’t forget – you can play along too by simply adding your photo to the CTC 128 album on our Facebook page HERE.

Now its time to pop around to see what the rest of the crew have created for you.

Next on the hop is the amazing Julia Quinn!

Happy Stamping!!!
