CTC #115 – Delicate Details Wedding Card

It’s Sunday night, so that means it’s time for another CASEing the Catty Blog Hop!

Have you been joining in the fun on our new Facebook Group.  Its as simple as uploading your project to the correct album on the Group! You may have come from the lovely Julia Quinn tonight, or be starting right here! Take a look around and see what has inspired us this week!

Our challenge for this week is to CASE (Copy and Share Everything) anything we like from pages 8 – 11 of the Saleabration Catalogue! Remember – you don’t need the particular stamp set – you could be inspired by the colours, layout, backgrounds, absolutely anything on the projects!

This week I thought it was time to pull out my Delicate Details Stamp Set.  It hadn’t seen ink yet, which is a shame, because it’s a lovely set.  I took inspiration from the card on the left on Page 9 of the Saleabration Catalogue…

I really wanted to ink up those layers just like that card.  It’s quite easy to do – just line up all your stamps and place your block on top to attach them, and stamp in one image.

I wanted to try this background with gold heat embossing….so thats what I did!

That gold really pops off the card and it looks so elegant!

And the best bit – this stamp set is totally FREE and yours to choose when you spend $90 during Saleabration!  Who doesn’t love a freebie!

Now its time to continue to the wonderful Judy May to see what she has in store for you! Just click the image below.

CTC114 – Sending Love Acetate Card

Hi everyone!

We are back for another CASEing the Catty Challenge where the design team inspire you with projects that we have used to spur our creativity!  You may have arrived from Julia Quinn’s post or be starting right here – either way we are thrilled that you joined us!

To CASE means to Copy and Share Everything, so thats what we do! And you can too – just hop around to see what the design team has created, then hop off and create your very own CASE from the pages mentioned below and upload to our Facebook group using the link at the end of the post. It’s that simple!

I am thrilled to see so many of you participating in the challenge over on Facebook, and I love that the latest entries have been using different sets to CASE a layout! Well Done Everyone!

This week we are CASEing anything from the Occasions Catalogue Pages 14 – 19.  I have to say – these pages hold lots of favourite sets for me, so it was quite difficult choosing what I wanted to use – but as I have an upcoming class using the Sending Love Suite, I decided to begin playing with that!

I knew I wanted to try and create an acetate card ( I think that’s what they might be called???) for this class – so I began playing around with card colours and papers.  As sweet as it is – I really wanted to break up all that red and white in my card, so I introduced some crumb cake to tone it down a bit.  I really like the combination of colours! I then used that little white card in the top left corner as inspiration for the base of my card – I just changed up the colours a little and substituted one envelope for the glassine sheet envelope (Like I said – I wanted to tone down that RED! Lol).

It’s a bit tricky to get a good picture with the acetate centre – but I really love how it turned out! I hope the girls at class enjoy this fancy card too!

For my second card I let the blue card in the pic above inspire my layout, but I really wanted to step away from the ‘Valentine’ theme to show people just how versatile this set can be…. I mean those cute envelopes should be enough, but just in case…. I thought this beautiful friend sentiment was perfect. I adore that font…if only I could write like that!

I stamped the sentiment ‘sent with love’ along the edge of the card with versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.  I ‘turned’ all the hearts on the DSP for contrast (warning – you have to be a bit gentle here or you can tear the hearts), and as I have been doing a lot lately – I framed the sentiment using the Stitched Shape framelits – I can’t get enough of those! Seriously!

Don’t forget to decorate the inside of your cards for that extra special touch!

I do hope you enjoyed my projects this week!

Make sure to hop on over to the very talented Judy May to see what she has created for you all this week!

And once you have finished hopping around – don’t forget to post a pic of your very own CASEd project in our Facebook group!

And ppppssssttttttt…..we love it when you leave us a little comment too!

CTC112 – Cupcakes and Carousels

We are back this week for another CASEing the Catty Challenge!  We have had some fantastic entries over on our Facebook Page – so keep them coming – we are so glad you are enjoying the new way to play along!  This week for our challenge we are taking inspiration form the Cupcakes and Carousel section of the Occasions Catalogue on pages 8 – 13.  Remember, you don’t have to have any of the stamps sets to play along, you just use the images in the catalogue to spur your creativity! It may be the paper, colours used, images, designs or layouts that you use to inspire you to create your project!

I cannot tell you how much I love this suite (I know – I love just about all of them! Lol) – but this suite makes it easy! And it has a real vintage feel about it! I love the DSP paper stack (I just wish they were 12×12!), the colours that are used in the suite and the stamp sets! It made it so easy to create my projects…and I guess I took inspiration from it all!

The one thing that really caught my eye in this picture were the Rosette’s . I used to love making these, but had forgotten about them – until now! So I knew I had to use them for this challenge.

I set about creating a scrapbook page using the Carousel Birthday Set – it came together so quickly for me, which surprised me, because I am not a natural scrapbooker!  It just goes to show…when you have the right products its easier to create!

Do you see the stamped Carousel Horse Image on my page?  I took inspiration from one of the actual papers in the DSP stack- this one –

I love the way they looked, so I made my own.  Its easy to do – just stamp your image in the lightest base colour (in this case peekaboo peach) and the ink up other ares using a sponge dauber with your stronger colours (calypso coral and early espresso). See – easy and SUPER effective!

I didn’t stop there with this suite either.  I decided to have a bit of fun and made this 3D carousel, well, just because I could, using a large rosette for the roof! And if you are wondering how the centre is made – it’s from our empty ribbon spools – I never throw them out! Lol.

I hope you enjoyed these creations this week!  This suite is LOADS of fun, so I encourage you to have a play and join the challenge.  Simply upload a picture of your creation to the album on the Facebook page HERE.

Now it’s time to hop on over to the wonderful Julia Quinn and see what she has created for you all!

CTC111 – Saleabration of Hey Chick

Its time for another CTC challenge and this time, we can CASE anything from the Saleabration Catalogue! How fun is that… there was sooooo much to choose from but I knew exactly where to start!

From my first sneaky peak of the Saleabration Catalogue at On Stage I knew that I had to have the Hey Chick Stamp set.  Those chickens are so darned cute I couldn’t help myself.  It was the first Saleabration set I added to my order.  Apart from the chicken with the crazy hairdo, my other favourite was they way the chicken had been coloured on page 17 –

She is so bright and colourful and not really what you expect your chicken to be! So I just had to put her on a card! So on she went – Ready in time for my new product play day this week, so others can make her too!

I love how our stitched Framelits really set off images! And the great news is – they will be back in stock and ready to order from the 16th of January! The cool chicken wire background was created using the new hexagons dynamic embossing folder.  Simply pat your ink on the raised edges, lay your card stock over the top and rub gently with your bone folder or sponge brayer and voila…instant background from any embossing folder! And it coordinates perfectly with our little chickens!

Hope you like her!  Now pop on over to Julia Quinn’s blog to see what she has created for us this week!

And don’t forget – you can play along too on our Facebook Page by clicking HERE!

Watch my video at My Paper Oasis to see how this was created.

Card Base – crumb cake

CTC110 – Party Animal

I have some very exciting news to share with you all! I have been invited to join the team over at CASEing the Catty! Its a weekly blog hop, where every Sunday Night the team CASE different sections of the catty to inspire your creativity!  It’s loads of fun….and you can play along too!

This week is all about CASEing the Party Animal Section from pages 4-7 of the New Occasions Catalogue! (Have you seen it yet? It’s spectacular!)

I absolutely love the Cake Crazy Stamp Set on Page 7 and I needed a female birthday card, so I took inspiration from the card on the left. I love the way it stacks!

My order hasn’t arrived yet with this lovely set, so I improvised using the new Birthday Bright Set available in the Occasions Catalogue on Page 13, to create my very own cake stack card.  Its quite easy to do with the photopolymer stamps – but if you are not confident you can always use the stamp-a-ma-jig!

I did add a little bit of sparkle by using the Gold embossing powder instead of the white and I was pleasantly surprised at how well this stamp set ‘stacks’!

And seeing as I have been taking a break and was keen to get creative again, I decided to make another card using the same set, but this time I used the base of the centre card below for inspiration.

I thought the little banner pieces in the set would be prefect to create a focal point on my card.  I simply lined them all up on a single block and stamped away before applying my white embossing powder!

And let me tell you – that white ribbon in the new Occasions Catty is fast becoming a favourite of mine! It’s the perfect size for card makers!

I hope this has given you some inspiration for creating!  You can now hop over to Jackie’s blog to see what she has created for you all!

Don’t forget you can play along too by using the link tool below or by joining our BRAND NEW Facebook group – CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge – where you can play along by adding your photo to the related challenge album.

I’m really looking forward to being a member of the Caseing the Catty to help inspire you all!
