CTC 155 – Gift Packaging Both Catalogues

Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks CASEing the Catty Blog Hop!

This week its CTC 155 and we are CASEing Gift Packaging from either catalogue!

You may have popped over from Judy’s blog or be starting here – but take the hop full circle for lots of inspiration when creating your own gift packaging – it’s not just about cards after all! Lol.

This week my inspiration is just a little bit obscure! I started with the boxes in the top left of the image below from page 36 in the Holiday Catalogue…

The box on the top is made with the Champagne Foil Sheets.  I really liked the idea of this box, but was going to create in using the Window Box Thinlets.  However…. on my hunt for where I had hidden my Champagne Foil Sheets, I came across my Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate and my mind starting wondering what a Window Box made out of this might look like.  Hmmm, a bit of a fancy Christmas Gift Packaging Idea I thought.  So you know I just had to then create it. So I did!

CTC 155 Gift Packaging with Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate Window Box by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

Because of the Acetate Box, it was super tricky to get a good photo – but I gave it my best go so you can get an idea of how sweet this little acetate box really is.

I added a Gold Foil Hexagon to the top of the box for a bit more clarity to the lid, and just like the image I was CASEing – I added a Gold Foil Star on top of that for some extra texture and effect.

Add some ribbon, Year of Cheer Embellishments and a present from the Christmas Around the World Embellishments and I was pretty happy with the simple elegance of the box all dressed up for a pretty special gift for someone!

It is definitely a bit trickier to work with the acetate but I think it was worth it. I used Fast Fuse to join all my tabs as I didn’t want glue making a mess of the acetate. I encourage you to give it try.  I hope you like it as much as I do!

And – the Window Box Thinlets are discounted this week during the Online Extravaganza!!!!

Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Julia Quinn to see what she has designed for you all this week!

CTC 153 – Holiday Catalogue Tags

Hi Everyone and welcome to CTC 153.  This week we get to CASE (Copy and Share Everything) any Tag from the Holiday Catalogue!

That gives us a lot of options doesn’t it!  So much scope to use our creativity equals so much fun in my book!

When exploring the catalogue I felt that I didn’t need to go much further than this gorgeous tag on the front cover on the Holiday Catalogue …

I was really attracted to the different layers that add lots of elements to the tag.  I decided to turn my tag into a card and made it very Non Christmassy! Lol.

CTC 153 Holiday Catalogue Tags and Colour Me Happy by My Paper Oasis

I have been having a bit of fun playing with our new Stampin’ Blends and the Colour Me Happy Project Kit Bundle that became available for you all to purchase this month, so I decided to use them in this weeks CTC challenge. I mean, that little bird is SUPER cute – I currently want to use him on every project!

I omitted the Rosette from the original design in my CASE and opted for the flower, leaves and mini sequins for a few more layers and a bit more visual effect. I’m super happy with how it turned out too.

The Stampin’ Blends are fabulous, but do take a bit of practice to get used to – so if you use them, don’t give up to quickly!  You have a few important things you NEED to remember to help your journey…

1. You need to use Momento Ink to prevent the ink colour bleeding into your colouring.

2. These blends are designed to be used with the Thick Whisper White Card stock.  They do bleed through underneath as you colour and blend, which is normal for alcohol markers, so don’t panic.

3. The blends are quite moist, so start small and with a light hand.

4. Use the Colour Lifter Pen to remove colour from your images and lighten them.

5. Alcohol markers can colour other elements such as rhinestones and pearls as you can see on this project.

6. Have fun and experiment. Practice makes Perfect!

I do hope you enjoyed my take on the ‘Holiday Catalogue Tag’.  Now its time to pop on over to Monique’s blog and see what she has created for you all this week!

Don’t forget that once you have taken the hop to pop on in to your own craft space, get creating and post a pic on our Facebook Page to join in the challenge!

Happy Crafting everyone 🙂

CTC 152 – Painted Autumn – Christmas Treat Tube Holders

A big Hello to you all!

I’ve been super busy with Picture to Page and Market Nights the past couple of weeks, so it’s lovely to be back!

Welcome to CTC 152 – Painted Autumn / Spooky Nights on pages 48 – 55 of the Holiday Catalogue.

I don’t really do Halloween, but this fun section has one of my absolutely favourite items!  The treat tubes!

I had a team meeting recently and I thought it would be lovely to treat them to a hot chocolate. Not just any hot chocolate, one they could make themselves! Lol

So we made these cute as Christmas Treat Tube Holders all dressed up for Christmas.

CTC 152 Treat Tube Holders for Christmas by My Paper Oasis

One tube holds the Hot Chocolate, the other is filled with mini marshmallows.  I found the original idea on split coast stampers HERE from Lisa Somerville.  I noticed her double holder was missing one measurement – so here they are:

Take a piece of cardstock 11″ x 5 1/2″ for the Box Base and score on the long side at 1/2″; 1 3/4″; 4 1/4″; 5 1/2″ and 8″.  Score each short side at 1 1/4″.

My measurements for the cardstock layers and DSP are:

Top Panel Cherry Cobbler – 2 7/8” x 2 3/4”

Top Panel DSP – 2 3/4” x 2 5/8”

Bottom Panel Cherry Cobbler – 2 7/8” x 2 3/8”

Bottom Panel Whisper White – 2 3/4” x 2 1/4”

The best bit – the Be Merry Designer Series Paper is currently included in the Buy 3 Get 1 Free DSP sale! You could make sooooooo many of these with that great special!  But it’s only until October 31st!

Just imaging all the little goodies you could fill these Tubes for Christmas or any other occasion.  They could even be used as a little gift and place setting on your Christmas table – just add a name to the bottom panel for a more personal touch.

I just recommend adding the ribbon before filling the tubes! It can be a bit tricky to tie them whilst trying not to spill the contents! Lol.

I hope you have enjoyed this weeks project.  It’s now time to hop on over to the lovely Rachel to see what she has created for you all!

Don’t forget to play along with this weeks challenge by creating your own project and uploading to our Facebook Page

CTC 150 – Favourite Bigshot Project from Holiday Catalogue

Welcome to CTC 150 where we are CASEing (Copy and Share Everything) our Favourite Bigshot Project from the Holiday Catalogue!

You may have popped over from Fi or be starting right here, but I encourage you to take the full tour and start getting inspired for Christmas with all the gorgeous projects highlighted!

How difficult a task is choosing your FAVOURITE bigshot project!!!! I mean REALLY!!!! There are so many wonderful bigshot projects in the Holiday Catalogue this season to play with!

For me personally – I was able to narrow it down to my two MOST favourite items – the Trim your Stocking Dies or the Christmas Staircase Dies.  The Christmas Staircase dies won and I created my 3D Framed Christmas Tree.

I love this tree and how it can pop right off the card with those brilliant branch framelit pieces.

CTC150 3D Framed Christmas Tree with Ready for Christmas Bundle

Projects that pop really appeal to me. The more 3D the better 🙂

So I went a little bit beyond a card this time to create a 3D Framed Christmas Tree for some Christmas Decor this year.

CTC 150 3D Framed Christmas Tree using the Ready for Christmas Bundle

I sourced a small polystyrene cone shape and sliced it in half to create this tree.  Of course, you could do a complete one for a decoration or a table centrepiece.

I changed the colour from the card pictured and used regular Whisper White Cardstock and added some smaller branches using our Gold Foil  to add a bit of lift and bling.  and its a bit hard to see in the photo, but I have also wrapped some Gold Metallic thread around the tree to give the appearance of tinsel.

Once I was done cutting ALL the pieces, Im not sure how many white branches I ended up cutting, but it was a lot, but not enough to drive you nuts! Lol. I  layered them on the cone, beginning at the base and working my way up, making sure they overlapped for good coverage. I adhered them only by the top 1/4 of the branch, so I could go back and tuck further branches in as necessary to thicken up the tree.

Once my tree was complete I removed the glass from the frame, cut some Garden Green Paper from the Be Merry Designer Series Paper the same size as the frame, and put it all together.  I did hot glue the tree to the DSP to ensure it wouldn’t fall off!  I pulled out our retired Stars Framelits to get the right size star for the tree.

What do you think???

Now it’s time to pop on over to the wonderful Bronwyn Eastley and see what she has for you all!

Don’t forget to play along by creating your own project and then pop on over to our Facebook group and upload your work so the design team can be inspired too!

CTC 149 – Year of Cheer Mini Pizza Box Gift Cards

It’s Sunday night – so that means it’s time for another CASEing the Catty Challenge, where every week the design team uses images from the current catalogues to Copy and Share with you to help spur your creativity! You may have popped over from Judy or be starting right here, but make sure to take the full tour and see everyones creations!

Challenge 149 is all about the Year of Cheer Section of the Holiday catalogue on Pages 36-47.

The Year of Cheer section has so many sparkly projects to choose from as well as those cute as Mini Pizza Boxes.

So I took inspiration from the Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper and the Mini Pizza Boxes to create Year of Cheer Mini Pizza Box Gift Cards.

I love the elegance of the Year of Cheer DSP and the gorgeous co-ordinating embellishments.  They make it very simple to create stunning cards for special occasions.

CTC 149 Year of Cheer Mini Pizza Box Gift Card by My Paper Oasis

I teamed mine with Fresh Fig cardstock and some Gold and Silver heat embossing to compliment the foil on the papers.  The gift cards are 3″ x 3″ and I have cut the DSP to 2 3/4″ to allow enough of an ‘edge’ to peek through of the base card.  I folded the Gold Foil Snowflake concertina style and adhered the centre to the gift card, so it really ‘pops up’.  The best part is – you can either gift the box and the cards, or use the cards and then pop a gift in the Mini Pizza Box for someone.

We will be making this gorgeous set at a card class at the end of November.  These papers aren’t part of our current Designer Series Paper Sale where you can Buy 3 get 1 FREE – but you could certainly use the ones that are to create your own version!

I hope you like my project.  Now its time to hop on over to Monique and see what she has created for you all.

Don’t forget to create your own and pop on over to the Facebook Challenge page and upload your creation!

Happy Crafting!

CTC 148 – Kits and Memories & More

Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks CASEing the Catty Challenge.

CTC 148 is all about Kits and Memories and More – from either the Annual or Holiday catalogues.

I am a big fan of the kits that Stampin’ Up! produces.  They come with absolutely everything you need – minus snail adhesive – to create stunning cards. Imagine creating 20 cards with everything at your fingertips – dimensionals, ribbons or twine, embellishments, stamp set, ink spots, even a basic clear block is included in selected kits. They are fully portable and packed in a gorgeous box, so you can even take them on holidays – its like having a travelling card class!

The kits have full colour pictures, easy directions and are perfect for the beginner card maker and the more advanced alike!  The bonus for the beginner is that you have everything you need to begin creating right away!  No one would ever know you have just started when you produce a card from one of these kits!

They’re also a great springboard to get your creativity flowing and give you ideas for creating more cards.

I decided this week to simply make up one of the kits I had sitting around in my craft room since I purchased it – The Soft Sayings Card Kit.  I fell in love with the soft, watery backgrounds and gold embellishments, on page 10 of the Annual Catalogue.

I changed a few of the cards slightly when creating, but I mostly created them as they are supposed to be.  Because sometimes even those of design teams like the creating to be done for them! Lol.

CTC 148 - Kits and Memories and More - Soft Saying Card Kit

It only took 1 hour to create the 20 cards in this kit. Did you know you can even purchase a refill kit to make another 20 cards!  I encourage you to give one a try!

Now its time to hop on over to Judy and see what has inspired her this week!

CTC 146 – Season of Glitz using Painted Harvest

A big hello to everyone.  Thank you for joining the CASEing the Catty Crew for Challenge Number 146.

This week we are focusing on the Season of Glitz Section in the holiday catalogue on pages 20 -27 of the new Holiday Catalogue.

This week I have decided to show you how to CASE (Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit) Season of Glitz to create Painted Harvest Mini Pizza Box Gift Cards.

I had held out for ages before getting this set…as in, it just arrived this week!  But i could resist no more after seeing so many beautiful projects created with it.

I’m pretty time poor this weekend, so I took inspiration from the card on page 27 of the catalogue –

They looked cute, quick and catchy.  When I pondered what set to use to base my design around, I knew I had to use the Painted Harvest stamp set!

The flower would make the perfect circle for the centre, and I really wanted to try out the new Mini Pizza Boxes – so I decided to create a little box of gift cards.

CTC 146 Mini Pizza Box Gift Cards using Painted Harvest by Stampin Up

I couldn’t put the sentiment in the middle without obscuring the flower, so I stamped it on vellum and adhered to the bottom of the gift card.  I then just popped my ribbon off to the side of the sentiment.  My bling came by using the Wink of Stellar Glitter Brush, which is pretty difficult to see in pictures, but trust me – it’s there!

The colours for this set use Wisteria Wonder and Fresh Fig.  The best part about the two step stamping for this set – there is no lining up! Yes thats right – no lining up required!  I didn’t have the coordinating DSP to help decorate the Mini Pizza Box, so I created my own using the little acorns in the set!  I fell in love with them. They are so adorable and took my back to the time I used to play on the oval at school and collet acorns and pop their little hats off!

Another great bonus using the mini pizza boxes – we now have 3″x3″ envelopes so making gift cards is super simple!  And the boxes are food safe! So many things to love!!!!

I loved them so much in fact I created another colour sample –

CTC 146 Mini Pizza Gift boxes using Painted Harvest by Stampin Up

This colour combination was Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral.  It’s stunning!

And the whole suite of what I created today.

I love how they turned out.  So much so that my customers who place an order in September will be receiving one of these as a special thank you!

I hope you love them as much as I do!

Don’t forget to take the whole hop, and then pop on over to our Facebook page and upload your lovely creation by next Sunday night too!

Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Rebecca Scurr to see what she has created for you all.

CTC 145 – Merry Little Christmas with Tags and Trimmings

Hi everyone.

Welcome to this weeks CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. You may have hopped across from Jackie or be starting right here, but I encourage you to take the full tour of this weeks hop all about the Merry Little Christmas Section on pages 10 – 19 of the New Holiday Catalogue!

So I have to ask….have you got a copy of the new catalogue yet? Have you downloaded a copy for yourself?  What do you think?  Is there just too much loveliness to choose from!  Well hopefully we can help you as you tour around and see what everyone has showcased tonight!

There are a lot of beautiful ideas in these pages of the catalogue.  But if you have been following me for a while, you will have an idea that I am a sucker for little boxes.  I have NEVER sold off any of my little box dies once they have retired, I just can’t bear to part with them!

Because of that, this weeks selection was an easy choice for me.  I created A Merry Little Christmas with the Tags and Trimmings Bundle!

I used the little pillow box to the right (you can make both the pillow box and the stocking with these dies) and turned it into a little gift stocking, because the stockings are what I truly fell in love with when I saw this set!

CTC 145 Tags and Trimmings Gift Stockings by My Paper Oasis.

The gift tag die is what you use to create the back of the stocking, so the little stocking is actually 3D and stuffable too, making it ideal for a gift card, or cash or a few little treats! Who wouldn’t love to get this for Christmas. You could personalise with a name and hang on the tree ready to hand out.

I also thought they would be great as a table place setting, with the cutlery tucked neatly inside! That way you can colour coordinate them to suit your decor for the day!  You pop on the guests names to indicate seating arrangements!

CTC 145 Tags and Trimmings Gift Stockings by My Paper Oasis.

And finally I wanted to point out, that just because their primary purpose is for 3D items, doesn’t necessarily mean that is the only way to use them!  Don’t add the backing to the stocking, trim off the top and you can quickly and easily create a Christmas Card!

CTC 145 Tags and Trimmings Gift Stockings by My Paper Oasis.

So there you have it!  A Merry Little Christmas with Tags and Trimmings!!!

I do hope you have enjoyed my projects today.  Now it’s time to continue the hop and head on over to the lovely Monique and see what she has created for you all!

Happy Crafting!

CTC 144 – Quilted Christmas

Hi everyone and welcome to CASEing the Catty Challenge 144!

I am SUPER excited about this weeks challenge because we are getting to CASE (Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit) from our

BRAND NEW HOLIDAY CATALOGUE!!!!!!

It is 55 pages of absolutely stunning Holiday Projects and Ideas! You won’t be disappointed with what’s on offer, so click the image to download your very own copy – and make sure you contact your local demonstrator to get your very own paper copy!!!!!

We are starting our hop CASEing the Quilted Christmas Section on Pages 4 – 9.

SO I FINALLY GOT MY CHRISTMAS ON !!!!

Now my most Favourite Bundle in the WHOLE catalogue is in this section!  It’s the Ready for Christmas Bundle.  I knew as soon as I saw it that I HAD to have it and it went straight to the top of my list! You can see why from the pictures below taken from page 6 –

CTC144 Ready for Christmas Bundle  CTC144 Ready for Christmas Bundle

It’s such a fun bundle with 20 stamps and 20 dies that I just couldn’t resist it.

To really show it off today I took inspiration from all of the projects that you see here and combined them into ONE card!  I haven’t made this type of Tri Fold Card before, so I was excited to give it a go with this bundle.  I thought the layout would work perfectly for what I wanted to create and I am really, really happy with how it turned out.

Here is the front of the card.  It’s a bit more bulky than a normal card, so I used some of our Gold Ribbon to loosely secure the card, so that it can slip on and off to open the card.

CTC 144 Ready for Christmas Bundle Tri Fold Card by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis.

Once you slip off the ribbon you open the stair section of the card to reveal the Christmas Tree.  I love the way you can stamp this tree then cut the shape with the framelits, or cut the tree shape in coloured card and then cut and attach the leaves for a fabulous 3D look that jumps off the card!

CTC 144 Ready for Christmas Bundle Tri Fold Card by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis.

The baubles are stamped and cut in the set of three, so much easier and less time consuming than doing them individually, which I love!!!  Combine the gold embossed baubles with a gold star and a bit of gold metallic thread wrapped around and your tree is all dressed up!  The panel behind the stairs was the perfect place for a Christmas Sentiment! Don’t you love that font!!!!

CTC 144 Ready for Christmas Bundle Tri Fold Card by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis.

Open up the entire card and here is what you find!  A whole house scene!  This set really does have so many possibilities and is so much fun to create with!!!! I bet it will become one of your favourites too!

Here’s a clearer look at the front panel of the card.

I hope you enjoyed my project for today, because I had LOADS of fun creating it!  I may even make a tutorial for this project! What do you think?

Now it’s time to continue the tour and hop on over to the amazing Simone Bartrum!  She has made some brilliant cards using this bundle and was also my inspiration for this card – so click the link and see what she has created for you this week!!!!

CTC 143 Pocket Full Of Sunshine Gift Card

Hi everyone and welcome to CASEing the Catty Challenge 143.  This week we are taking inspiration for the Artistic Expression Section of the Annual Catalogue on Pages 132 -181.

CTC 143

So take the hop all the way around, be inspired, flick through the pages in the catalogue, create your own CASE (Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit) and then upload your own creation directly to our Facebook Page HERE. You have until next Sunday night to complete the challenge!

I had to create a birthday card this week for my son’s friend. I knew which stamp set I wanted to use, so I looked for some inspiration in what type of layout.

I chose to CASE the Flamingo design on Page 164 to create my Pocketful of Sunshine Gift Card.

I thought the layout would work really well, and I was wondering what to do on the background of my card to jazz it up a bit, so this card inspired me to use my recently purchased Marbled stamp set.

Here’s what I created…

CTC 134 Pocketful of Sunshine Gift Card by My Paper Oasis.

I am really liking this set, and the fact that a gift card fits perfectly inside the little pocket.  It really makes it super simple to make a quick card for the recipient!  I added the notes behind the gift card, so the pocket still has something in it once he uses his gift card.  I loved how quickly this card came together by simply taking a flick through the catalogue to get inspired, but still looks very different to the original!

I hope you enjoyed my creation this week.  Now it’s time to hop on over to Monique’s Blog and see what she has created this week!

HAPPY CRAFTING!
