CTC 166 – Lots to Love with Pick a Pattern

Hello again!

Welcome to CTC 166 where this week we are CASEing projects from the Painted with Love Section of the Occasions Catalogue, on Pages 18-21.

This section of the Catalogue is just gorgeous.  I am absolutely in love with the Gold Glitter Flakes and Painted with Love DSP, but I really went in quite the opposite direction for this challenge.

This challenge was a great excuse to pull out the Lots to Love Framelits Dies and create a box like you see in the centre of the above image.

I decided to create a box and used the image below to base my design off, but switched out the tags to use the new Whisper White Narrow Notecards for my project.

I’m not sure where the rest of the inspiration for this project came from, but I have been using a lot of florals for a while, so maybe my brain decided it had enough of those images.  As I played around the idea just evolved I guess! Lol.

Lots to Love about Pick a Pattern

CTC 166 - Lots to Love about Pick a Pattern by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

I had forgotten how fun the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper actually is!  Lots of images to fussy cut and play around with.  I started by creating the notecards, loosely basing the layout on the images of the tags from the catalogue (above).  As I was playing, I was picturing images that you might capture whilst camping – without realising how easily that idea would coordinate with another one of the DSP sheets!  That’s where the box cover came to fruition.  Those cute little animals, polaroid snaps and camera images fitted so well with my overall plan!  The only image that was stamped was the ‘sun burst’ from the FREE Amazing You Stamp Set.

CTC 166 - Lots to Love about Pick a Pattern by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

I really wanted to be able to see the images inside the box, so after I had adhered the black DSP, I used a circle from the Layering Circle Dies to create a window, popped a piece of window sheet on the inside and viola.  I really like how this little set turned out and it’s more masculine feel.  My mind is now racing to use the Flying Home Stamp Set and Hedgehugs to create a similar pack!

By purchasing the Lots to Love Framelit Dies, the Whisper White Narrow Notecards and the Pick a Pattern DSP you would actually qualify for a FREE Saleabration stamp set.  That means you could choose Amazing You and you would be able to recreate this project at home!

Now it’s time to hop on over to the amazing Kelly Kent and see what she has created for you all!

Happy Crafting 🙂

CTC 165 – Saleabration Hedgehugs

Hi everyone and welcome to CTC 165 where every Sunday night the Design Team get our creativity on and CASE (Copy and Share Everything) from our catalogues.  That means we take a design and change it up a little or a lot to create a card or project.  This week we are back to CASEing any design from the Saleabration Catalogue!

If you’re not familiar with Saleabration – it’s where you can choose FREE products with every $90 spent!  It’s one of the best times of the Stampin’ Up! Year!

This week I have decided to play around with the design in the middle of the image below, found on page 15 of the Saleabration Catalogue…

I started playing with Hedgehugs stamp set to recreate this card.

CTC 165 - Saleabration and Hedgehugs by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

There was a bit of Fussy cutting required for the images for this card, so It’s lucky it’s something I enjoy doing!  I teamed my card with a Pear Pizzaz piece of cardstock, that I have embossed with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Petal Passion Pack.

As I was designing this card another idea came to mind.  I thought this layout would be perfect for our birdhouses in the Flying Home Stamp Set, so I created a second card using the same basic elements as the Hedgehugs card…

CTC 165 - Saleabration with Hedgehugs by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

I coloured this one using our Stampin Blends markers.  Remember if you are colouring with these markers to use your momento black ink and Thick Whisper White Cardstock for the best results!

This one is going out to a wonderful person who recently took advantage of our brilliant Saleabration joining Offer – where you can get up to $408 in product for only $169!  Isn’t that a great deal! With no lock in contracts and no pressure to host events you have nothing to loose!

I hope you enjoyed the projects today!  If you would like to see all the amazing deals during Saleabration pop on over to this post HERE.

CTC 164 – Occasions Kits with Petal Palette

Hi everyone! Welcome to CTC 164 where this week we are CASEing the Occasions Kits of the Occasions Catalogue, on pages 15 – 17.

The kit you see pictured here is the Lots of Happy Card Kit!  I absolutely love this kit and have already had a class using it, which the participants loved as well!  The best bit about this prepackaged kit is that it is literally a class ready to go!

It has absolutely everything you need to create your projects, other than snail adhesive – It includes the stamp set, an ink spot, all card bases, envelopes, embellishments, ribbons, pencils and a basic stamp block to get you started creating right away!  They are great for beginners, those with limited supplies, or to take away when travelling! You can even get a refill of this one!  I cannot recommend these kits highly enough!

For today’s challenge however, I created my own little kit using the cards on the bottom of page 17 as a basis, using the Petal Palette Bundle.

I loved how bright and fun these cards were.  I started by creating with the Lemon Lime Twist Card.

Occasions Kits with Petal Palette!

CTC 164 - Occasions kits using Petal Palette by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

Even though it’s a bit hard to see, I substituted the Happy Birthday Sentiment on the original card for the spotted stamp in the Petal Palette Stamp Set.  To create the flowers I stamped the image one a piece each of Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Soft Sky Card stock.  I used the Lemon Lime twist as my base piece, and then fussy cut the flowers in the other colours, before layering them on to the base piece.

CTC 164 - Occasions Kits using Petal Palette by Mel Pagano at MY Paper Oasis

My second card was the Berry Burst Card.  I stamped one of the smaller flower images on the card base, so it was similar to the original.   For this card I lightly watercolored my images with an aqua painter, which I kept quite dry as I was using regular Whisper White Cardstock.

CTC 164 - Occasions Kits using Petal Palette by Mel Pagano at My paper Oasis

The third card is just a little 4″ x 4″ card.  I changed the elements for this one to more suit my stamp set – I mean – I hadn’t even inked up that sweet little bird yet!  Even those this stamp set has coordinating framelits, I still fussy cut one of the flowers, as the framelit left a lot of white space in the middle that didn’t look right on this layout. And, if you purchase the whole bundle for this suite you automatically qualify for a FREE Saleabration item! How good is that!

And that my friends, is my own little Occasions Kit with Petal Palette! I am so happy with how my little kit turned out that I am offering this card kit tutorial for Free with the purchase of this bundle from me, for the month of February!

CTC 163 – Saleabration – Painted with Love Pandas

A BIG hello to you all and welcome back to another week of CASEing the Catty, where every Sunday night the design team creates a hop focusing on a selected section of the current catalogues to CASE (Copy and Share Everything)!

The best bit is that you are able to play along too!  All you need to do is CASE a design from the selected section and then upload your photo to our Facebook Group right HERE before the next challenge! Simple.  I do hope you can play along!

This week is CTC 163 and we are back to CASEing anything in the Saleabration Catalogue!

Saleabration is the BEST time of the Stampin’ Up! Year because you can earn FREE, yes FREE, products for EVERY $90 spent on orders!  If you don’t have a catalogue then contact your local demonstrator, me, any of the girls on the hop, or simply download a copy from the sidebar to see all the amazing freebies on offer!

My CASE this week focuses on the image on Page 8 of the catalogue – which is in fact, the image on the far right above!

I really wanted to cut – yes cut – my Painted with Love Speciality Designer Series Paper (DSP). It’s no good leaving it in the packet and hoarding it you know!

This paper is absolutely stunning.  It’s thicker than normal, making it ideal for more sturdier crafts such as boxes and packaging, as well as for the usual paper craft uses like cards and scrapbooking.  The metallic golds with the pinks and purples is a beautiful combination – really – you NEED to get this paper!

I have also used the super cute Party Panda’s Set that you can choose FREE during Saleabration and created two cards.

PAINTED WITH LOVE PANDA’S

CTC 163 - Saleabration - Painted with Love Panda's my Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

The Designer Paper sheet that I used grades from purples (Rich Razzleberry) down to lighter pinks (Calypso Coral and Powder Pink), so I started with a ‘Pink’ card. I used our Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate for the background as it added to the gold without covering the gorgeous layers of the DSP.  For this card I stamped the sentiment Love You from the Party Panda’s set, in rows across the rectangle I created with the Stitched Shape Framelits.

CTC 163 - Saleabration - Painted with Love Panda's by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

I REALLY like this second card!  The Rich Razzleberry in the DSP is just gorgeous combined with gold.  This time I punched a LOT of little hearts from the Cookie Cutter Punch and adhered them with tombow to my base piece for a very cool effect! It’s a bit like creating your own embossing folder!

I haven’t labelled the insides yet or attached a sentiment, as I thought they would be good for Valentine’s Day or birthdays!

I would love to hear which one you prefer!

CTC 162 – Sweet Soiree with Sunshine and Rainbows

Good evening everyone and welcome back to CASEing the Catty, where every Sunday night the design team CASE’s (Copy and Share Everything) from a given section of the current catalogues.  You can play along too, by creating your own masterpiece and loading your picture on our Facebook page right HERE. You have one week to get your entry in 🙂

We are up to CTC 162 – where we are CASEing the Sweet Soiree Section of the Occasions Catalogue, on pages 10-14.

CTC 162 - Sweet Soiree

It’s only a few pages of the catalogue, but it is overflowing with gorgeous projects ready to be recreated with your own spin on them!  I chose to play around with the card on the right on Page 14 –

I have already been having a bit of fun with the Sunshine and Rainbows suite – and I knew I wanted to take it out and play again!  I kept pretty close to the card in the Catalogue for the challenge, just changing and adding a few elements, and combining it with the Unicorn from the Magical Day Stamp Set – It’s like these sets were made for each other!

CTC 162 - Sweet Soiree with Sunshine and Rainbows by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

I started by spritzing yellow brusho on a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock because it holds the water so much better than Whisper White. Once that was dry I flicked some water drops all over and sprinkled with Gold Embossing powder and heat set, to create the Gold splatters. Did you know that you can simply use water for embossing powder splatters? I stamped the sentiment in versamark and also heat set with Gold Embossing powder.

I chose to cut my rainbow using the framelits and scraps of coloured cardstock. a tip for your rainbows is to nest them together and line them up from the back, then simply apply a few pieces of tear n tape adhesive to hold them together – no tombow glue to mess about with, and then you can pop the whole lot up on dimensionals like I have done.

The clouds were cut from our Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper Pack for a bit of added sparkle, and the Unicorn, from our Magical Day Set, was coloured with our Stampin Blends!  The horn is also sparkled with gold glitter.  Easy to do once you have applied a bit of Fine Tip Glue to the horn – just add Gold Glitter and let it dry!

I hope you like my CASE this week and have been having a chance to create yourself.  Don’t forget to come back and play along after you have taken the tour and seen all the amazing projects on offer!

CTC 161 – Saleabration and Amazing You

Hi everyone!

We are back for CASEing the Catty 161 where we get to CASE (Copy and Share Everything) from the Saleabration Catalogue this week!  ANYTHING from the Saleabration Catalogue.  That leaves a lot of scope you know!

Have you got your copy of the new catalogues yet?  You don’t want to miss out because Saleabration allows you to choose FREE products for every $90 or $180 spent!  So make sure you contact your demonstrator for a copy!

This week I decided to CASE this lovely card on the front cover of the catalogue –

Although, I have to be honest, I didn’t really like the colours in this image.  So that was the task I set myself – Copy the card but change up the colours.  I pictured this card more with black and white tones, with just a hint of colour to lift the flowers.  So this is what I created –

CTC 161 - Saleabration and Amazing You by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

I started with a Basic Black base and added a layer of Petal Passion Designer Paper (5 3/4″ x 4″).

For my second layer I stamped the flower from the Amazing You Stamp Set (FREE) in versamark, on another Basic Black Layer (5″ x 3 1/4″) before heat embossing with our Clear Embossing Powder.  I then stamped the ‘rays’ in versamark in the centre of this piece and heat set with Silver Embossing powder.  A couple of wraps of the New Silver Baker’s Twine finished with a bow, and then the whole layer was popped up on dimensionals to finish it off.

The flowers were created by stamping in versamark onto Vellum Cardstock and heat setting with White Embossing Powder – so much embossing today! Lol.   I then coloured the back of the images with our Stampin Blends.  You couldn’t see the colours on the black like this though – so I then adhered them with some tombow to Whisper White Cardstock, before fussy cutting each flower and adhering to the card.  I added a few other elements before using the Celebrate You Thinlets (also FREE) to cut the ‘Amazing’ sentiment.  This was so easy to adhere using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets!

CTC 161 - Saleabration and Amazing You by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

I’m really happy with how this card turned out, and dare I say – I prefer my colour combination 🙂  And even better, the stamp set and framelits are products that you can choose for FREE during Saleabration !

We would love to see you create your own work of art by CASEing something from the Occasions Catalogue and posting a picture of it on our Facebook Group – HERE. You have until next Monday to get your entries in!

Now it’s time to hop on over to Jackie Noble and see what she has created this week!

CTC 160 – Picture Perfect Party Panda’s

A big hello to everyone and welcome back to CASEing the Catty.

I trust you had a lovely Christmas break and are all set for a new year of crafty fun!

It’s lovely to be back crafting and stir those creative juices again.  I must admit, it was pretty easy with our brand new Occasions Catalogue and Saleabration events!

For our first CTC of 2018, we are CASEing (Copy and Share Everything) the Picture Perfect Party Section on Pages 4-9 of the brand new Occasions Catalogue.

The Picture Perfect Party Suite is such a fun and bright range.  And the imagery on the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper (DSP) is AMAZING!  It really does make creating cards super simple – you just let the DSP do the work.

I CASEd the image on the top left of page 6 of the Occasions Catalogue.

I liked the simple design, and as I wanted to play with my Party Panda’s from the Saleabration Catalogue, I knew it would suit my layout. The best bit – You can choose Party Panda’s for FREE with an order of $90 or more during Saleabration!

So I created my Picture Perfect Party Panda’s teaming the DSP with the Panda’s and making two slightly different cards.

CTC 160 - Picture Perfect party Panda's by My Paper Oasis

See how that background just pops right off the card! And those Panda’s are just too cute to resist.

Because the layout was quite simple, I decided to make a second card…

CTC 160 - Picture Perfect Party Pandas by My Paper Oasis

This time I used some Silver Foil Sheets for some added pizzaz to the card.  You really could build your birthday stash so quickly using this Designer Paper!  It even has a sheet of presents that you could use for the front of a card, or in my case – I cut some out to help me dress up the insides of the cards –

CTC 160 - Picture Perfect Party Pandas by My Paper Oasis

How simple is that!

I hope you are looking forward to sharing another year of crafty fun with us! Why not kick start it by joining in with this challenge!   Create your own CASE from the section mentioned above, then upload your picture to our Facebook Group – HERE!

CTC159 – Any Holiday Project with Brightly Lit Christmas

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to this weeks CASEing the Catty blog hop!  We are up to challenge CTC 159 and can CASE anything from the Holiday Catalogue this week!  Such choice!

I am a bit excited to share this weeks project with you all for 2 reasons.

Firstly – because I get to showcase one of my favourite Holiday Catalogue Items – the Brightly Lit Christmas Bundle!  I really am a sucker for dies that aren’t that common to find, and I know this set will be useful for all kinds of projects and cards – not just for Christmas.  It’s one of those sets that would really help create an entire scene for lots of occasions with it’s beautiful lamp posts!  It’s also on our retiring list – so it won’t be around for much longer 🙁

Secondly – Because I have FINALLY managed to finish my Christmas Cards!  And not a moment too soon I might add!  I love adding a Christmas Card to my New Catalogue mail out for the Occasion’s Catalogue and they are ready to be posted this week!!! So if you don’t have a demonstrator, live in Australia, and would love a copy of the New Catalogue, simply send me an email using the ‘Contact Me’ form and I will pop one in the post for you 🙂

Tonight I am CASEing the card at the very top of the boxes!

So here is my Brightly Lit Christmas Card for you all!

CTC 159 - Brightly Lit Christmas Card by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis with measurements

I really wanted to show off some of our Merry Music DSP without obscuring the lamp post, so I created panels for this card to do just that.  and of course being Christmas, it needed at least a bit of sparkle – so our Foil Snowflakes sorted that for me too!

Here’s a Gold Version:

These colours are not colours I would traditionally use or choose for a Christmas card, but I think they work quite well together and I love how the Merry Music DSP has Christmas Sheet Music so had to show that off too!

But I have to say – the one item that REALLY rescued me when creating such a stack of these cards was our Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets! These sheets were new in this years Annual Catalogue. I simply attached a piece to the back of a piece of black cardstock before running the dies through the bigshot.  It was then simply a matter of peeling away the backing paper and adhering the lamp pieces directly to the cardstock!  Oh. My. Goodness. What a time saver!  Seriously – if you haven’t tried it yet – you really need to! Especially for the more intricate pieces that you need to adhere!  No messy tombow fingers at all!

CTC 159 - Brightly Lit Christmas Card by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis with measurements

Here are the measurements if you would like to create your own version:

Real Red Card Base – A4 card cut in half on long side (14.9cm)

Merry Music DSP – 5 5/8″ x 2″

Basic Black Card – 5 5/8″ x 2″

Whisper White Layer – 5 3/8″ x 1 3/4″

Cut your Foil Snowflakes in half and adhere to Merry Music DSP before adding the Basic Black layer, which will overlap slightly.

I hope you are all ready for Christmas now!  Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Julia and see what she has created for you all!

Don’t forget to come back and play along this week and show us your lovely creations!  You have until next Monday to upload your project to our Facebook Group –

CTC 158 – Case a project from the page thats your age

Well hello everyone! Have we got a fun CASEing the Catty for you tonight!  Tonight we get to CASE a project form the page that’s your age! Lol.  And it can be from any catalogue!  We also had a disclaimer clause that we could use the page that is the age we would like to be!!!

How much fun is this weeks challenge going to be! I can’t wait to see all your projects as you play along for this one!

I decided this week be brave and CASE a project from the page that was my actual age!  So over on page 43 of the Annual Catalogue you will find the design that I CASED this week –

I CASED the layout from the little notebook on the left hand side.  Initially I was going to use the same coloured DSP from the Colour Theory Suite, but then I completely changed my mind, pulling out the yet to be used Petal Garden DSP Stack instead!

I kept the same basic layout and used the Tabs for Everything Stamp set for my sentiment and created this card instead…

CTC 158 - A page thats your age using Petal Gardens DSP by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

As you can see, I changed up the colours and imagery, but kept the basic layout the same.  I don’t think I use our Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate anywhere near enough!!!!

Here’s a bit more of a close up for you so you can really see the elements!

CTC 158 - A page that's your age using Petal Garden by Mel Pagano at My paper Oasis

The Petal Garden DSP has some really beautiful floral imagery, and those roses were fussy cut straight from a piece of it!  How easy is that!

I really do enjoy the variations you can create simply by CASEing a project from the catalogue and changing a few elements!

I can’t wait to see what you do with this challenge this week!

Now it’s time to hop on over to Angela’s page and see what her age…oops…project is this week 😉

Then don’t forget to come back and play along with your own project. Simply post a pic over on our Facebook Group –

CTC 157 – Case a Colour Combination

Hi Happy Crafters!

Well nutty season has hit! Hands up if you ave finished creating your stash of Christmas cards yet – Yeah me neither! Lol.  I am bound to get there eventually.  I just need everything to STOP first, so I can sit and create and write and address and post them!

So because it’s not like I’m in a hurry to do that or anything … I decided to create something for CTC 157 instead – where this weeks challenge is to CASE (Copy and Share Everything or Selectively Edit) any Colour Combination in any Catalogue.

Despite needing to complete lots more Christmas cards, I decided not to do Christmas at all.  I have had a beautiful friends birthday this past week – so I created for her instead!  I wanted the card to be a bit more special than usual, so I called upon Bronwyn Eastley’s Tutorials to help me along.

Ever since I saw Bronwyn’s Coffee Cafe Easel Card I knew that I had wanted to try it with a vase, which would also be perfect for my friend’s birthday too and to top it off – the catalogue had the perfect colour combination for me to CASE. Don’t you love days you feel like you’re winning!

Here is the Colour Combination I decided to CASE.  You can find it on Page 28 of the current Annual Catalogue.

I love the simple colours, and it even helped me design my card!

So here is my version of Bronwyn’s Coffee Cafe Easel Card using the Jar of Love Framelits!

My Jar of Love Easel Card!

CTC 157 Jar of Love Easel Card by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis.

Now I can’t share how to actually create the easel – you’ll need Bronwyn’s tutorial for that!  But I can tell you that to get the variance in colours for your flowers, use the stamping off method.  That means you can get more use out of your available colours.  Each colour used here is only one ink pad.

To use the stamp off technique simply ink up your image in your chosen colour, stamp it once on to a scrap piece of paper (our Grid Paper is perfect for this), then, without inking your image stamp it again onto your card stock.  This will give you a ‘lighter’ version of the same colour.  The next image you stamp as normal, giving you the full colour strength.  It really does help you get more use out of your colours!

When creating my card, I really wanted it to give the impression of a vase of flowers on a little doily, like you would find on a table.  I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I think it could even be used as a decorative piece at home.

I hope you enjoyed my project tonight!

If you would like to take a look at how to make this card then you can hop on over to ADDinktive Designs HERE to purchase the tutorial!

Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Fi and see what she has created for you all!

Don’t forget you to can play along with our challenges every week.  Create your own project and post a pic on our Facebook Group right HERE.

Happy Crafting everyone!
