CTC 128 – Favourite Kit

Hi everyone.  I seemed to have been MIA the past couple of weeks as I prepared for the Picture to Page show in Pakenham.  But I am back this week for another awesome CTC Challenge!  This week we get to CASE our Favourite Kit from any Catalogue!

I do have a couple of favourite kits in the catalogue – especially the Watercolour Wishes Card Kit. But for todays hop – I decided to try something a little different.  I have always liked the Perfectly Wrapped Kit on page 159 in the current Annual Catalogue, but it was one of those kits I never actually got around to purchasing!

I thought it was such a bright fun kit, and just a bit different to our usual kits with all its fun packaging.  I had so much fun creating for this challenge!  I had never thought to CASE a kit before!

So today, being Mother’s Day in Australia, I thought all that cute packaging may just come in handy for some lovely little gifts!

I used the Grateful Bunch stamp set and Blossom Bunch Punch to base my mini kit around.  I am just a bit sad this set is retiring! I loved the lace and the triple flowers that you could layer together were so quick and easily … not to mention that is my most favourite butterfly …. sob…

Anyway – here is what I came up with!

CTC 128 Favourite Kit Projects by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Stampin' Up! Grateful Bunch and Blooms and Bliss DSP

I created the gift bag by using our Kraft Tag a Bags (also retiring).  I simply stamped the bag, folded the base and adhered the corners underneath to create an open bag.

The Clear Tiny Treat Box was simply decorated with some hand stamped Whisper White card, scored and folded for inside the box, with a belly band wrapped around and a cluster of flowers popped on the top.

And instead of creating the cello bags – I CASEd the design and turned it into a card to suit the occasion!

The sentiments from this suite really do go well with the Mother’s Day theme.  I hope that where ever you are today, and whom ever you consider your ‘babies’, that you are having an amazing day! Every woman is fabulous and deserves to be treated special xx

Don’t forget – you can play along too by simply adding your photo to the CTC 128 album on our Facebook page HERE.

Now its time to pop around to see what the rest of the crew have created for you.

Next on the hop is the amazing Julia Quinn!

Happy Stamping!!!

Colour INKspiration 08

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration Challenge #08!

At Colour INKspiration, we play and create using a different colour palette every fortnight.  It’s a fantastic way to stretch your creativity and I encourage you to join in.  We have a dedicated Facebook group where you can upload your own creation to right HERE.

I missed the last challenge, so I was determined NOT to miss this one! And boy is this a challenging one!

I love this picture but I must admit, I was a bit daunted initially with the colour palette – Delightful Dijon; Tip Top Taupe; Soft Suede; Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.  But after a little pondering I realised what it reminded me of … the colours of a sepia photo …you know the ones … with just a hint of colour to highlight a certain area.

Once I had that idea in my head I knew exactly which stamp set to reach for – so I am giving you a little sneaky peak at one of our new upcoming sets from the Birthday Memories Suite. It is sooooooo adorable!

Colour INKspiration #08 Sneak Peak from the upcoming Birthday Memories Suite by My Paper Oasis, Birthday Delivery, Stampin Up, Sepia Colouring, Vintage Card

Isn’t she gorgeous!  I used the masking technique for the addition of the flowers before lightly water colouring them with Delightful Dijon. I created the sepia effect by watercoloring around the image of the girl lightly with Soft Suede, then inside the image gradually building with small amounts of colour until I was happy with it.  As this is on Very Vanilla Cardstock, I did have to make sure that my aqua painter was not very wet or it would ruin the card.

The flowers were created with the Succulent Flower Dies (retiring item) simply sponged in Delightful Dijon, curling the tips under and then layered on each other.

Colour INKspiration #08 Sneak Peak from the upcoming Birthday Memories Suite by My Paper Oasis, Birthday Delivery, Stampin Up, Sepia Colouring, Vintage Card

I absolutely love the vintage feel of this card! I hope you do too. And I know you are going to love the entire Birthday Memories Suite!

But don’t stop here!!! We have an absolutely amazing array of stunning projects from our Design Team lined up to inspire you for this hop!  Get ready to be WOWED as you make your way around to everyone’s blogs!!!!!

Up next is the lovely Rebecca Scurr and her gorgeous creation!

For me that meant I was going to CASE a project using the Love You Lots Stamp Set.  My most favourite Hostess Set Ever!  What’s not to love about all those cute critters.  I will be sad to see this one retire at the end of May, but I will be hanging on to my set for future use!

I decided to focus on the card on the right from the image below …

A simple, quick notecard that could be created using any set really.  I began by CASEing the card directly, but substituting colours and ribbon for wash tape, and of course using Love You Lots!

Love You Lots Hostess Set for CTC 124 by My paper Oasis, Stampin Up, Sunshine Wishes

I know that ribbon has retired recently from Saleabration, but it just set the card off nicely with a bit of silver bling!

Then I moved on to a similar card, utilising one of the other Sunshine Wishes Framelits, but still those cute bugs …

Lining Up your Delicate Details Stamps

Hi Everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you my Stamp it Sunday Live video creation, where I gave a couple of tips and tricks for creating this weeks card.

In my video, I explained exactly how to Line Up your Delicate Details Stamps to achieve a lovely straight and consistent result when stamping multiple rows of them!  I also snuck in how to create a rectangle using our Stitched Shape Framelits!  A video full of goodness just for you!

Here’s the card we created using those beautiful, intricate, lacy delicate details stamps!

Lining Up your Delicate Details Stamps and creating stitched shape rectangles by My Paper Oasis, Stampin' Up!, heat embossing, sponging

You may remember the Gold Version I created for a CASEing the Catty challenge a while back – you can see it HERE – well this one was similar, but i went for a white embossed background before sponging some of our current In Colours over the heat embossing.  The great thing about sponging is, you can create as such or as little depth of colour as you desire!

You can watch the video over at my You Tube channel – My Paper Oasis – to see exactly how this card was created and to hear all my tips.

You can still get this stamp set ABSOLUTELY FREE with any $90 order – but ONLY until March 31st – so you had better be quick!  If you are in Australia you can shop at my secure online store by clicking the link below!  All products used are listed below to help you recreate this card yourself 🙂

Colour INKspiration 6 – CI06

Welcome to our next Colour INKspiration Challenge!  Your entries have amazed us so far! So much talent and creativity out there – it’s a joy to see, but makes it very difficult to vote!   Keep up the great work!  You can join the fun on our Facebook Group HERE.

We have a beautiful colour swatch for you all this week.  These colours work so well together.  We have Night of Navy, Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Gold to work with. Even though the image says gold foil, it can be any gold you like.

There are some beautiful projects by the crew this week, so make sure you hop around to see them all, including from our guest designer – Kim Oliver. Welcome Kim!

I found these colours compliment each other so very nicely and had a bit of fun creating.

Colour INKspiration 06 by My Paper Oasis, stampin up colours with Flourishing Phrases

I thought today I would try my hand at water colouring my own background.  There was a similar navy striped paper in our Floral Boutique DSP, but the lines were fine and quite dark. I really like the more subtle water coloured lines.  They are super simple to create too – just pop some ink on your aqua painter and run it straight across your cardstock.  It’s really that simple.  I used our Shimmery White for this, because it holds the water so well and the subtle shimmer is just gorgeous!

I even splattered on some extra sparkle with gold glitter, by mixing a small amount of tombow with water, then flicking it across my card using an aqua painter.  I have a specific aqua painter for this job, because it does get glue in the brush.  Sprinkle your card with gold glitter and tap of the excess and leave to dry.  It creates a beautiful effect on cards.

Well I do hope you have enjoyed my creation this week. Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Monique to see what she has created this week!

CTC 120 – Nailed it!

Happy Sunday everyone!

That must mean it’s time for yet another fantastic CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop. To get you inspired to create and stamp this week, we are concentrating on pages 46 – 49 from the Occasions Catalogue.

As usual, there are lots of lovely samples to choose to CASE – but considering I have barely inked up my Nailed It Set, I knew straight away it was the bundle I was going to play with.  It’s a fantastic set to make some great projects for that handy man or woman in your life!  But remember – you don’t have to have the stamp sets to play along in these challenges – just let the pages inspire you to create with what you have.

I took inspiration this week directly from the picture above.  Not the cards – but the peg board itself!  This set lends itself to creating a great peg board display, especially when teamed with the coordinating DSP.

And perhaps one more card, just because I can! Lol

CTC 120 - Nailed It Peg Board by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis, Stampin Up, Tools, Male Card

Told you the paper makes this suite super easy to create with!

Now, as I’m the one with the tool kit in my house, I feel I need to make myself one in more ‘feminine’ colours!

Don’t forget to play along with the challenge.  Simply create your project and upload to the relevant Facebook Album in the CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge Page (it’s the album with the matching picture at the top of the post).  You can find the Group HERE.

Now it’s time to hop over to the amazing Simone Bartrum to see what she has created this week!

Happy Stamping!

There is just under 2 weeks left to enjoy all the Saleabration Freebies!  Make sure you don’t miss out!

CTC 119 – Designer Tee

Welcome everyone.  I hope you are enjoying your long weekend in Victoria!

It’s time again for another CASEing the Catty Challenge!  This week we are CASEing anything in the saleabration catalogue from pages 16 – 19!  Remember when we CASE we don’t need the exact sets as displayed – you can take inspiration from the colours, layouts, stamps or images 🙂

You may have come from Elizabeth’s blog or be starting right here! Once you have popped around the all the blog posts, don’t forget to play along and upload your creation to our Facebook Page – no blog post necessary!

I’m taking my inspiration today from the image on page 18 of the catalogue – The pink card on the right hand side –

I love the sentiments in the designer tee stamp set and the little t-shirt framelits!

I had to change the colours up a bit as I have just received my FREE Glimmer Paper Assortment Packs (no, I couldn’t just have ONE!) and I wanted to use some of that glimmer! It is SUPER sparkly!

CTC119 using Designer Tee by My Paper Oasis, Stampin Up, Custom Tee, Watwrcolouring, Mel PaganoYou all know I love a bit of watercoloring and I gave my t-shirt a bit of extra love to make it smooth and shiny, by pressing it into my versamark ink pad and then sprinkle with clear embossing powder.  Do it a couple of times for a smooth, glossy finish!

CTC119 using Designer Tee by My Paper Oasis, Stampin Up, Custom Tee, Mel pagano

I used the same method to create these gorgeous dangles for my Product Play Day at the release of the Occasions Catalogue in January – only for these ones I heat embossed a back and front and adhered them together to make it super strong! Mine hangs on my scissors 🙂

CTC119 using Designer Tee by My Paper Oasis, Stampin Up, Custom Tee, scissor charm

If you love Designer Tee, you had better be quick! You can choose it for FREE with any $90 order but there’s only 19 days of Salebration left to get yours!  Don’t delay – supplies are only whilst they last!

I hope you enjoyed my projects – now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Rachel to see what she has created this week!

Colour INKspiration 5 – CI05

Hi everyone!  Glad you could join us for another Colour INKspiration this week!  Can you believe two weeks have flown by already!

The crew are really enjoying everyone’s enthusiasm and participation, so keep them coming!

This weeks colour palette is much more suited to colours I would normally ‘go to’ when creating. Soft Sky, Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand! Don’t forget you can use neutrals and metallics too for your creation!

A beautiful pastel palette to work with, that took my heart straight to quilting.  Yes, I love to quilt and these images and colours took me straight there.  The inspiration started to flow – I wanted to make a quilt – what kind of quilt??? – ohhhhhhhh a drunkard’s path quilt – and then it occurred to me that the stitched framelits would give the impression of stitch lines! Woohoo – idea sorted!

AND THEN……

the realisation that our Falling in Love Designer Series Paper (available in the current occasions catalogue) has the EXACT colour palette.  YES! So the creating began….

Colour INKspiration 05 Quilt Inspired Card by My Paper Oasis, stampin up, drunkards path quilt design

There was a lot of cutting on the bigshot for this one, but the end result was well worth it. I had a lot of fun making this ‘mini paper quilt’.

I used the smallest stitched square and circle framelits.  To make sure the circles were cut in exactly the same spot each time, i had to make a small mark on the circle framelit where it intersected with the stitched lines from the square. That ensured the quarter circle nested nicely into the square shape each time.

A few embellishments, some vanilla ribbon and the thread from the blushing bride sequins and it was done!

I hope you enjoyed the project! Now its time to hop over to Elizabeth’s blog to see what she has created for this challenge!

Don’t forget to play along with the challenge by uploading your design to our Facebook Page HERE.

And remember – MARCH is the final month of Saleabration! I hope you have been taking advantage of the FREE products on offer! If you live in Australia you can order your supplies via my Shop Now button 🙂
