I hope the fast pace to Christmas isn’t too insane that you are not getting any craft time in!
Well if it is, let me help you create some super fast cards whilst clearing the craft room of scraps of DSP. The best bit about these cards is that you can use any scraps you have lying around ( and generally I have LOADS) and team them with any shape you want! I created some quick christmas cards to help me clean up my Presents and Pinecones scraps!
This one was super simple using the Santa’s Sleigh Framelits! Just between you and I – It has been one of my most favourite bundles this year!
Here’s another using the Embellished Ornaments framelits.
How cute are they!
And everything coordinates so easily when you let the designer paper dictate your card colours!
Take a look at my video over at My Paper Oasis to see how simple they are to create!
Here are the measurements to make your own –
Card Base – cherry cobbler, cut on short side at 4 1/8″
Card topper – Emerald Envy 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″
Whisper White – 5 1/4″ x 3 1/2″
Scraps of DSP approximately 3″ long (or longer depending on framelit) by approximately 1/2″ to 3/4″ wide.
PSSSTTTTTTT – don’t forget that all supplies to create these projects are available in my online store HERE. Take advantage of the Year End Close Outs Sales whilst the DSP and lots of other products are on sale!
Do you remember this card that I painstakingly made ??? You can see all about it Here.
Well I absolutely adored that card, so when it came to writing out all my Christmas Cards this year to hand out – well – lets just say that I couldn’t possibly part with this card! It was just too special, too gorgeous and too much work to part with. Still, I wasn’t entirely sure what I was going to do with it!
Then came along my December Daily album where the front needed some special adorning for Christmas. I was stuck this year as to what to decorate it with. I had thought of using the ornaments soon many times – but I wasn’t sure how to quite do it.
Then yesterday it came to me whilst staring at my card….. I wanted that ornament on my album – however I really didn’t want to spend hours making another one – so I set to work using this one without to much fuss at all.
Here’s what I created……
I simply trimmed my card down and used our new ‘Number of Years’ dies with our red foil to create the year. A glittered star and gold cording trim and I was done!!!! And isn’t it wonderful that the ornaments have carried forward into the Occasions Catalogue!
I hope you like it!
Now to complete the pages……………. :-/
Don’t you love giving personalised gifts? Birthdays, thank you’s, babies and of course Christmas all allow you to create some lovely personalised gifts sets and tags.
I sometimes struggle with gift tags. I want them to look really good, but in such a little space to work with i often find it difficult to create the effect I am after.
This Christmas however, I found it reasonably simple. Our gorgeous ornate tag topper punch and scallop tag punches made tags very simple, along with our lots of labels framelits and beautiful stamps and DSP.
Pull out your gift bag punch board and make a matching card, and you have a complete gift set! You can also use gift tags to decorate card fronts too!
Happy Stamping 🙂
I have been trying to choose my favourite item from the 2015 Holiday Catalogue. I have to tell you, I found it pretty tricky to select a favourite! There are so many to choose from! But I had to narrow it down and I have to say – even though this cards took me AGES, and yes by that I mean HOURS, it is still by far one of my most favourite cards I have ever created. So I thought it was most appropriate choice!
I love our red foil paper and our cording trim in Gold or Silver – I can’t get enough of it! But most of all I love our delicate ornament thinlets dies.
I made this ornament by cutting out the same ornament in black card stock, and then in our gold, red and silver foil sheets. I popped out all the black pieces and adhered the bauble to a piece of white card stock. I then painstakingly popped pieces back in from the foil sheets like a jigsaw puzzle. Trust me – this is the ONLY time you don’t want all those little pieces to pop out of the piece you just cut! I adhered them with our new fine tip glue pen – a definite must have for this kind of project and another favourite of mine.
It has then been cut out as a whole by the plain ornament die of the same shape and adhered onto a piece of window sheet.
I have to say that it is absolutely stunning to look at, and looks even more amazing with a small electric candle behind it!
I hope you have enjoyed my project and that it inspires you to get your creative thinking caps on using this bundle. I would love to see what you come up with 🙂
