CTC 134 – No Bones About It Babies and Kids

Welcome to the next CTC blog hop, where this week we CASE (Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit) from the ‘babies and kids’ section of the Annual Catalogue.

Today I am CASEing the project on page 109 of the catalogue using the No Bones About It Stamp set. ¬†Just the stamp set you need for any dinosaur lover – which just happens to be my nephew who needed a birthday card ūüôā

¬†I love the card on the right hand side. ¬†If I don’t have a piece of designer paper that suits my needs then I just pick a stamp set and create my own.

Have you ever tried it?  It really is a lot of fun and makes it quick and easy to complete a set of cards all at once.

Simply choose the colours and imagery you want, then set to work randomly stamping the images on an A4 piece of whisper white card stock. ¬†Cut it up to create four card fronts! It really is that easy. ¬†Here is what I created this week…

CTC 134 - No Bones About It for babies and kids by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis. Use any set from Stampin' Up!s range to create your very own designer series paper backgrounds.

This first card has just a couple of extra elements like the background coordinating colour behind the sentiment, as well as a couple of fussy cut leaves and a dinosaur on dimensionals for a bit of extra fun!

My second card uses the same background, but has a different feel when the extra elements and the background colours are changed…

CTC 134 - No Bones About It for babies and kids by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis. Use any set from Stampin' Up!s range to create your very own designer series paper backgrounds.

So from one sheet of whisper white, I was able to make these four cards of two different designs.  You could change it up even more and have a different colour background for all four.

One sheet – four cards, 2 designs. ¬†It’s that simple!

Pop on over to see my you tube video HERE on how I created this background paper and others :-)

Try it with any stamp set at all. ¬†Baby, flowers, insects, artsy…whatever you desire!

Colour INKspiration 11

Hi everyone! Are you ready for another Colour Challenge???  Well get ready, because we are back for Colour INKspiration #11.

Play along every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month by using the given colours to create your own work of art, and then upload it to our Facebook Group right HERE.

The colours we get to work with for this challenge are Early Espresso, Marina Mist and Soft Suede.

Marina Mist is one of those tricky colours for me – a bit like a love / hate relationship. I love it – it hates me when it comes to using it! Lol.It’s one of those colours that I really struggle with for some reason.

Anyway, I was very grateful that my new order arrived in time for me to have a play with some of our lovely new goodies! And I combined those with some old favourites. ¬†I have been itching to use the new embossing paste, so one way or another it was going to end up on my card. ¬†I did get the decorative masks to go with it, but I really wanted to create my own with one of our lovely dies from the Rose Garden Thinlets. ¬†So I set to work…

Colour INKspiration #11 by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Rose Garden Framelits and Embossing Paste by Stampin' Up!

It’s a bit hard to see on the image, but I have the brand new Sheet Music Stamped lightly in Soft Suede in the background, and then used Timeless Textures to add a more vintage feel, with the flourish embossed with copper.

I used the large rose image from the Rose wonder Dies as a mask, trimmed of the leaves and secured the image in place with a bit of washi tape, before adding a few drops of Marina Mist Ink to a small amount of embossing paste and carefully spreading it over the mask.  Carefully remove the mask whilst the paste is still wet and there you have it!

Have you noticed the little curls to the copper trim bow – it is so easy to do – just wrap it around a toothpick or similar and it holds the shape! ¬†Unfortunately I had to mask a little boo boo with the sentiment – ¬†the card wasn’t going to have one initially, but I ended up with a blue splodge from the stampin write marker when flicking Marina Mist specks over the card front!

Now it’s time to pop on over to Monique’s blog and see how she has used this colour combo!

CTC 132 – Birthdays

A big hello to you all and welcome to CASEing the Catty Challenge #132, where this week we get to CASE the birthday section of the catalogue!

Everyone has birthdays (whether they want to or not! Lol), so this is a great way to hop around and see everyone’s projects so creating your own birthday cards is a breeze!

I had to create a special 50th birthday card this week for a friend. ¬†Not only is she a friend, but she is also my downline and loves card making too (Yes Lynda – this one is for you!). ¬†I don’t know about you, but I find they are always the trickiest people to create cards for! And a 50th has to be a pretty special card.

I was struggling with just what to create, when I picked up my catalogue and started flicking through the birthday section. ¬†On page 80 I came across this image …

Now I know it’s not exactly a birthday card, but I love 3D cards for those ‘special’ birthdays – so this got me thinking and playing around with ideas, when my mind was drawn back to a gorgeous creation I had seen by none other than one of our very own crew members – Bronwyn Eastley! ¬†She had made a stunning foldable card using the (now retired) Botanical Blooms and the Window Box Dies.

You can see her original post HERE with the link to see how the card is made.

As much as I love those Botanical Blooms, I wanted to use one of my most favourite floral current products – Tranquil Tulips (yes…again…)!

CTC 132 - Birthdays by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Hostess Set Tranquil Tulips by Stampin' Up!

If there is one downfall with this set – its that there is no matching framelits ūüôĀ So let me tell you ….there was a LOT of fussy cutting! ¬†It’s just as well that I actually like to fussy cut (just ask my class ladies! Some are not so fond of it as me! Lol). You will definitely need a good pair of scissors for this one!

There was even more fussy cutting than you would expect, because I made the tulips appear more 3D by cutting and adhering the top layer of the stamp on the front of each image.

CTC 132 - Birthdays by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using hostess set Tranquil Tulips by Stampin' Up!

It looked sooooo pretty in real life! I was really happy with how it turned out! And – it folds flat for popping in an envelope and posting!

Did you know that Stampin’ Up! have an extra special opportunity to get this Hostess set this month? ¬†Host a qualifying workshop, party or place and order of $450 and you get an EXTRA $45 in rewards! That’s at total of at least $90 to spend on anything you like!!! Contact your local demonstrator to find out more!

Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Kelly Kent and see what beautiful project she has to share with you all!

Happy Crafting!!!!

Welcome everyone to my awesome team and a fantastic blog hop to kick of the New Annual Catalogue for 2017-2018!

There are sooooo many lovely new products to fall in love with in this catalogue Рso I am glad I have a whole year to collect them all!  Do you have a favourite yet?

Tonight I wanted to showcase one of my favourite hostess sets.  I think it is stunning, yet so simple to create lovely works of art with it!

I am of course talking about the Tranquil Tulips stamp set!

I created my first card by CASEing the one in the catalogue (CASE means to Copy And Share Everything). ¬†It’s a great way to have a first play with a new set and get a feel for it! In fact – there’s a whole Facebook group dedicated to CASEing the Catty!

Pennsationals Team New Catalogue Blog Hop by Mel Pagano from My Paper Oasis using Tranquil Tulips stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Isn’t it just gorgeous! This stamp set really makes it easy to create these tulips with simple two step stamping ūüôā

So after a bit of a play I was then able to come up with my own design.  This time I coordinated it with some of our new Designer Series Paper and the new Label Me Pretty Bundle.

Pennsationals Team New Catalogue Blog Hop by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Tranquil Tulips Stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Don’t you love that new DSP!!! It is part of the Daisy Delight Suite but goes beautifully with the Tulips too!

CTC 129 – Favourite Project – Annual Catalogue

Welcome back to another week of CASEing the Catty!

This week we get to CASE our favourite Project from the Annual Catalogue! ¬†I was like…wwwwhhhhhhhhaaaatttttttt???????

With all those great projects how on earth are you supposed to choose?

Well to help me decide I went back to what caught my eye when I very first got to see the catalogue! ¬†There were two things that really stood out to me and I wanted NOW! ¬†The Foxy Friends Suite and the Baby Bear Stamp. ¬†But the project that really caught my eye was this one….

Found on Page 90, that tiny fox really caught my attention!  It took me a little while to actually find where the little fox came from, but I eventually found it in the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack (slapped forehead! )

I love the layout on the box and all the layered elements, so this is what I decided to create for you this week….on a card!

CTC 129 Favourite Project in Annual Catalogue with Mel pagano from My Paper Oasis, using Foxy Friends Suite from Stampin' Up!

It looks so adorable on a card, and I added the extra layer of white with our Layering Circle Dies just to help it stand out a little more from the Calypso Coral Background! Sooooooo Cute for a baby card – and you could make the matching gift box too.

So as I had made a ‘pink’ one….I decided I definitely needed to make a ‘blue’ one too!

CTC129 Favourite Project from Annual Catalogue with Mel Pagano from My Paper Oasis using Foxy Friends Suite from Stampin' Up!

I hope you too use the catalogue for your inspiration. ¬†With so many wonderful projects, it makes creating your own version extra easy! ¬†And don’t forget – this gorgeous paper stack from this suite is retiring as are the Baby’s First Framelits and the sequin trims. ¬†You only have 10 more days to get your retiring items before they are gone ūüôĀ

Now its time to hop on over to Monique’s page and see what her favourite project¬†is from the Annual Catalogue!

CTC 128 – Favourite Kit

Hi everyone.  I seemed to have been MIA the past couple of weeks as I prepared for the Picture to Page show in Pakenham.  But I am back this week for another awesome CTC Challenge!  This week we get to CASE our Favourite Kit from any Catalogue!

I do have a couple of favourite kits in the catalogue Рespecially the Watercolour Wishes Card Kit. But for todays hop РI decided to try something a little different.  I have always liked the Perfectly Wrapped Kit on page 159 in the current Annual Catalogue, but it was one of those kits I never actually got around to purchasing!

I thought it was such a bright fun kit, and just a bit different to our usual kits with all its fun packaging.  I had so much fun creating for this challenge!  I had never thought to CASE a kit before!

So today, being Mother’s Day in Australia, I thought all that cute packaging may just come in handy for some lovely little gifts!

I used the Grateful Bunch stamp set and Blossom Bunch Punch to base¬†my mini kit around. ¬†I am just a bit sad this set is retiring! I loved the lace and the triple flowers that you could layer together were so quick and easily … not to mention that is my most favourite butterfly …. sob…

Anyway – here is what I came up with!

CTC 128 Favourite Kit Projects by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Stampin' Up! Grateful Bunch and Blooms and Bliss DSP

I created the gift bag by using our Kraft Tag a Bags (also retiring).  I simply stamped the bag, folded the base and adhered the corners underneath to create an open bag.

The Clear Tiny Treat Box was simply decorated with some hand stamped Whisper White card, scored and folded for inside the box, with a belly band wrapped around and a cluster of flowers popped on the top.

And instead of creating the cello bags РI CASEd the design and turned it into a card to suit the occasion!

The sentiments from this suite really do go well with the Mother’s Day theme. ¬†I hope that where ever you are today, and whom ever you consider your ‘babies’, that you are having an amazing day! Every woman is fabulous and deserves to be treated special xx

Don’t forget – you can play along too by simply adding your photo to the CTC 128 album on our Facebook page HERE.

Now its time to pop around to see what the rest of the crew have created for you.

Next on the hop is the amazing Julia Quinn!

Happy Stamping!!!

Colour INKspiration 08

Hello and welcome to Colour INKspiration Challenge #08!

At Colour INKspiration, we play and create using a different colour palette every fortnight. ¬†It’s a fantastic way to stretch your creativity and I encourage you to join in. ¬†We have a dedicated Facebook group where you can upload your own creation to right HERE.

I missed the last challenge, so I was determined NOT to miss this one! And boy is this a challenging one!

I love this picture but I must admit, I was a bit daunted initially with the colour palette – Delightful Dijon; Tip Top Taupe; Soft Suede; Early Espresso and Very Vanilla. ¬†But after a little pondering I realised what it reminded me of … the colours of a sepia photo …you know the ones … with just a hint of colour to highlight a certain area.

Once I had that idea in my head I knew exactly which stamp set to reach for – so I am giving you a little sneaky peak at one of our new upcoming sets from the Birthday Memories Suite. It is sooooooo adorable!

Colour INKspiration #08 Sneak Peak from the upcoming Birthday Memories Suite by My Paper Oasis, Birthday Delivery, Stampin Up, Sepia Colouring, Vintage Card

Isn’t she gorgeous! ¬†I used the masking technique for the addition of the flowers before lightly water colouring them with Delightful Dijon. I created the sepia effect by watercoloring around the image of the girl lightly with Soft Suede, then inside the image gradually building with¬†small amounts of colour until I was happy with it. ¬†As this is on Very Vanilla Cardstock, I did have to make sure that my aqua painter was not very wet or it would ruin the card.

The flowers were created with the Succulent Flower Dies (retiring item) simply sponged in Delightful Dijon, curling the tips under and then layered on each other.

Colour INKspiration #08 Sneak Peak from the upcoming Birthday Memories Suite by My Paper Oasis, Birthday Delivery, Stampin Up, Sepia Colouring, Vintage Card

I absolutely love the vintage feel of this card! I hope you do too. And I know you are going to love the entire Birthday Memories Suite!

But don’t stop here!!!¬†We have an absolutely amazing array of stunning projects from our Design Team lined up to inspire you for this hop! ¬†Get ready to be WOWED as you make your way around to everyone’s blogs!!!!!

Up next is the lovely Rebecca Scurr and her gorgeous creation!

Happy Crafting!

CTC 125 – Favourite Bigshot Project!

Hi crafty friends and welcome!

It’s Sunday night, so that means it’s time for another CASEing the Catty blog hop. ¬†I’m pretty excited about this weeks challenge! ¬†We get to showcase our favourite Big Shot project from the occasions catalogue!

How hard was it to choose! I mean, the Occasions Catalogue had so many great Big Shot projects. ¬†The Lift Me Up Bundle, Custom Tee’s, Nailed It, So Succulent Bundle and not to mention the So Detailed Thinlets, Cool Treats and Dragonfly Dreams!

But for me – well, let’s just say that I am an absolute sucker for a box – so my choice for this weeks challenge just had to be the Window Box Die.

I had seen a picture from Pauline Barnfather at icreatecraft, who had designed a timber like box. I immediately fell in love with it and have been wanting to create my own version since. So this was my chance.  I really wanted to create an antique style box, that reminded me a little of an old jewellery box.  Some Soft Suede cardstock stamped with the Hardwood stamp helped me easily achieve that!

CTC125 Antique Window Box design by My Paper Oasis, stampin up, flower shop

I am so happy with the way it turned out. ¬†Once I created the box I knew it needed some beautiful flowers to top it off. ¬†I haven’t created these flowers for a few years now, so it was fun to really play and make¬†them again. ¬†I used the Flower Shop stamp and co-ordinating punch to create them. ¬†Here’s a better look¬†at the top for you.

CTC125 Antique Window Box design by My Paper Oasis, stampin up, flower shop

Luckily I had kept hold of my retired Antique Brads from a couple of years ago.  I think it really enhances the antique feel of the box perfectly and acts like a little handle to lift the lid open!

You can take a look at how I created these flowers, with my You Tube Link,  at this post Р3D Flower Making.

I hope you have enjoyed tonight’s project. ¬†Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Judy May and see what beautiful project she has created for you!

CTC 122 – Falling in Love with So Detailed Thinlets!

Hi everyone and welcome back to another CASEIng the Catty Challenge.  This week is CTC 122 where we are focusing on the Falling in Love section of the Occasions Catalogue from pages 50 Р54.

There’s only a few pages to this section, but boy are there some lovely projects to CASE. I focused on this one ….

The pretty cluster of flowers caught my attention, set off with the gold leaf and the die. ¬†I actually hadn’t paid a whole heap of attention to the stamp set until I saw those flowers – now I need it – but you all know how that goes! Lol. ¬†I also didn’t want to make a card – but the idea of a scrapbook layout hit me (it doesn’t happen often – so when it does I make sure I act on it!)

So here is what I designed …

CTC 122 Falling in Love with So Detailed Thinlets by My Paper Oasis, Stampin' Up!, scrapbook page

CTC 122 Falling in Love with So Detailed Thinlets by My Paper Oasis, Stampin' Up!, scrapbook page

I used the flower from the Butterfly Basics stamp sets and just fussy cut a ‘few’ out to create the flower bunch. ¬†I stamped them in Sahara Sand and the sponged them lightly with Blushing Bride ink. ¬†I used the stunning Flower Die in the So Detailed Thinlets Dies instead of the heart one in the image. All teamed with the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper and a special touch of gold! I love the way it turned out – but my goodness – that photo makes me feel old! It seems like a lifetime ago!

Don’t forget to hop around and see everyone else’s creations for some extra inspiration, and then join in the fun by uploading your own project to the album CTC 122 on the Facebook Page right HERE!

Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Elizabeth Gross to see what she has created today!

Happy Crafting everyone!

Colour INKspiration 6 – CI06

Welcome to our next Colour INKspiration Challenge! ¬†Your entries have amazed us so far! So much talent and creativity out there – it’s a joy to see, but makes it very difficult to vote! ¬† Keep up the great work! ¬†You can join the fun on our Facebook Group HERE.

We have a beautiful colour swatch for you all this week.  These colours work so well together.  We have Night of Navy, Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Gold to work with. Even though the image says gold foil, it can be any gold you like.

There are some beautiful projects by the crew this week, so make sure you hop around to see them all, including from our guest designer – Kim Oliver. Welcome Kim!

I found these colours compliment each other so very nicely and had a bit of fun creating.

Colour INKspiration 06 by My Paper Oasis, stampin up colours with Flourishing Phrases

I thought today I would try my hand at water colouring my own background. ¬†There was a similar navy striped paper in our Floral Boutique DSP, but the lines were fine and quite dark. I really like the more subtle water coloured lines. ¬†They are super simple to create too – just pop some ink on your aqua painter and run it straight across your cardstock. ¬†It’s really that simple. ¬†I used our Shimmery White for this, because it holds the water so well and the subtle shimmer is just gorgeous!

I even splattered on some extra sparkle with gold glitter, by mixing a small amount of tombow with water, then flicking it across my card using an aqua painter.  I have a specific aqua painter for this job, because it does get glue in the brush.  Sprinkle your card with gold glitter and tap of the excess and leave to dry.  It creates a beautiful effect on cards.

Well I do hope you have enjoyed my creation this week. Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Monique to see what she has created this week!
