CTC 134 – No Bones About It Babies and Kids

Welcome to the next CTC blog hop, where this week we CASE (Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit) from the ‘babies and kids’ section of the Annual Catalogue.

Today I am CASEing the project on page 109 of the catalogue using the No Bones About It Stamp set. ¬†Just the stamp set you need for any dinosaur lover – which just happens to be my nephew who needed a birthday card ūüôā

¬†I love the card on the right hand side. ¬†If I don’t have a piece of designer paper that suits my needs then I just pick a stamp set and create my own.

Have you ever tried it?  It really is a lot of fun and makes it quick and easy to complete a set of cards all at once.

Simply choose the colours and imagery you want, then set to work randomly stamping the images on an A4 piece of whisper white card stock. ¬†Cut it up to create four card fronts! It really is that easy. ¬†Here is what I created this week…

CTC 134 - No Bones About It for babies and kids by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis. Use any set from Stampin' Up!s range to create your very own designer series paper backgrounds.

This first card has just a couple of extra elements like the background coordinating colour behind the sentiment, as well as a couple of fussy cut leaves and a dinosaur on dimensionals for a bit of extra fun!

My second card uses the same background, but has a different feel when the extra elements and the background colours are changed…

CTC 134 - No Bones About It for babies and kids by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis. Use any set from Stampin' Up!s range to create your very own designer series paper backgrounds.

So from one sheet of whisper white, I was able to make these four cards of two different designs.  You could change it up even more and have a different colour background for all four.

One sheet – four cards, 2 designs. ¬†It’s that simple!

Try it with any stamp set at all. ¬†Baby, flowers, insects, artsy…whatever you desire!

Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Judy to see what she has created for you all!

CTC 129 – Favourite Project – Annual Catalogue

Welcome back to another week of CASEing the Catty!

This week we get to CASE our favourite Project from the Annual Catalogue! ¬†I was like…wwwwhhhhhhhhaaaatttttttt???????

With all those great projects how on earth are you supposed to choose?

Well to help me decide I went back to what caught my eye when I very first got to see the catalogue! ¬†There were two things that really stood out to me and I wanted NOW! ¬†The Foxy Friends Suite and the Baby Bear Stamp. ¬†But the project that really caught my eye was this one….

Found on Page 90, that tiny fox really caught my attention!  It took me a little while to actually find where the little fox came from, but I eventually found it in the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack (slapped forehead! )

I love the layout on the box and all the layered elements, so this is what I decided to create for you this week….on a card!

CTC 129 Favourite Project in Annual Catalogue with Mel pagano from My Paper Oasis, using Foxy Friends Suite from Stampin' Up!

It looks so adorable on a card, and I added the extra layer of white with our Layering Circle Dies just to help it stand out a little more from the Calypso Coral Background! Sooooooo Cute for a baby card – and you could make the matching gift box too.

So as I had made a ‘pink’ one….I decided I definitely needed to make a ‘blue’ one too!

CTC129 Favourite Project from Annual Catalogue with Mel Pagano from My Paper Oasis using Foxy Friends Suite from Stampin' Up!

I hope you too use the catalogue for your inspiration. ¬†With so many wonderful projects, it makes creating your own version extra easy! ¬†And don’t forget – this gorgeous paper stack from this suite is retiring as are the Baby’s First Framelits and the sequin trims. ¬†You only have 10 more days to get your retiring items before they are gone ūüôĀ

Now its time to hop on over to Monique’s page and see what her favourite project¬†is from the Annual Catalogue!

We have a fantastic colour challenge this week to get you started! Full of pretty pastels! Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise and Peekaboo Peach!  Pick at least three Рor up to all six! Neutrals are welcome Рblack, white, vanilla, crumb cake, kraft and sahara sand!

What a gorgeous colour palette to begin playing with!

I initially started by making a watercolour wash on some shimmery white to mimic the sky, using tempting turquoise, so saffron and blushing bride, which I planned to pair with our new Lift Me Up Bundle. But once I had¬†it completed I instantly went back to my childhood – enjoying a cone with lovely gelato ice-cream flavours! You know…the kind you don’t seem to be able to find anymore! ¬†Well, lucky for me Saleabration has the perfect set for me to use! Yep, out came Tasty Trucks to create my gelato heaven!

I gave the truck a light wash of mint macaron and sweet sugarplum and then cut out the shape and windows before ‘colouring’ it with our fine tip glue pen to give it a glossy finish. I also finished off the ice creams with 2 coats of the fine tip glue pen to give them a bit of lift and shine! ¬†The sentiment was from the Suite Sentiments set and was perfect for my gelato card finished off with Copper Embossing powder!

Don’t forget – you can get your very own Tasty Trucks Set with any purchase over $90 whilst Saleabration is on! Just¬†use my handy ‘Shop Now’ button to get your supplies.

I hoped you liked my creation! Continue on to Kathryn’s blog to see her use of the colour challenge! And don’t forget to join the challenge yourself over on our Facebook group!

CTC110 – Party Animal

I have some very exciting news to share with you all! I have been invited to join the team over at CASEing the Catty! Its a weekly blog hop, where every Sunday Night the team¬†CASE¬†different sections of the catty to inspire your creativity! ¬†It’s loads of fun….and you can play along too!

This week is all about CASEing the Party Animal Section from pages 4-7 of the New Occasions Catalogue! (Have you seen it yet? It’s spectacular!)

I absolutely love the Cake Crazy Stamp Set on Page 7 and I needed a female birthday card, so I took inspiration from the card on the left. I love the way it stacks!

My order hasn’t arrived yet with this lovely set, so I improvised using the new Birthday Bright Set available in the Occasions Catalogue on Page 13, to create my very own cake stack card. ¬†Its quite easy to do with the photopolymer stamps – but if you are not confident you can always use the stamp-a-ma-jig!

I did add a little bit of sparkle by using the Gold embossing powder instead of the white and I was pleasantly surprised at how well this stamp set ‘stacks’!

And seeing as I have been taking a break and was keen to get creative again, I decided to make another card using the same set, but this time I used the base of the centre card below for inspiration.

I thought the little banner pieces in the set would be prefect to create a focal point on my card.  I simply lined them all up on a single block and stamped away before applying my white embossing powder!

And let me tell you – that white ribbon in the new Occasions Catty is fast becoming a favourite of mine! It’s the perfect size for card makers!

I hope this has given you some inspiration for creating! ¬†You can now hop over to Jackie’s blog to see what she has created for you all!

Don’t forget you can play along too by using the link tool below or by joining¬†our BRAND NEW Facebook group – CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge –¬†where you can play along by adding your photo to the related challenge album.

I’m really looking forward to being a member of the Caseing the Catty to help inspire you all!

Fairy Celebration Meets Sliding Stars

I have been playing with ….. you guessed it…..the Sliding Star Framelits still! I really can’t help myself! I love to see the images wizz around the card. It makes for so much fun!!!

This time I made a couple of different cards. ¬†The first card I created the background paper of flowers from our Garden in Bloom Stamp, because I thought it would work beautifully for the cute little bee to buzz around the garden. It’s really easy to create your own papers, so I encourage you to give it a try!

Sliding star framelits and garden in bloom, card from My Paper Oasis.

Those tiny bees are too cute on the background! But I warn you – it’s super easy to loose that TINY matching framelit – so be careful!

I then decided to have a play with more of our Serene Scenery papers and my new Fairy Celebration stamp set.  I really wanted a cute fairy whizzing around too!

Fairy celebration meets sliding star framelits to create this adorable card from My Paper Oasis.

How enchanting is this card! I LOVE how it turned out.  To create the seamless background you just adhere the thin circle piece directly to the card base underneath, as the other pieces need to be mounted with dimensionals so the spinner works! I coloured a second set of wings using my stampin write markers, and then used our now retired 2 way glue pen before sprinkling them with some dazzling diamonds glitter.  Im sure it would work as well with a smear of tombow glue, but I was to impatient to wait for it to dry :-/

I hope enjoy some crafting time and give these cards a go. You won’t be disappointed!

BB-8 Sliding Star Galaxy Card

Hi everyone!

I hope you have been finding some time to relax and create!

I’m a little excited to share this card with you. ¬†My sons birthday was coming up and he was getting a remote controlled BB-8 for his birthday, so I had an idea to create a BB-8 card. ¬†But when I saw the amazing galaxy background demonstrated by Alisa Tilsner on her Facebook page – I knew exactly what I wanted to do! She has also made a blog post on how to recreate it yourself – here – so have a go. It’s lots of fun!

I have been playing HEAPS with the sliding star framelits! My youngest card maker extraordinaire is too! They really are so much fun.  I will be showcasing them in my next few projects.  I knew they would be perfect to make my mini BB-8 flying around in space!

BB-8, Galaxy background, stampin Up, my paper oasis, star wars, sliding star framelits

It’s safe to say that my son absolutely LOVED his birthday card this year. ¬†I used reinkers instead of my stamp pads. ¬†I find it easier to control the colour if I apply a drop of colour onto a clear block and mix from there. You definitely need the watercolour paper for this project too. A variety of circle punches and BB-8 was built ūüôā

I hope you will give the background a try. Let me know how you go. You can even post your projects in the comments! I would love to see them!

No Bones About It Shaker Card

I get excited every time I get to pull the No Bones About It set off the shelf to use. ¬†This time I was aiming for something a little different. ¬†I was creating a first birthday card for my nephew. ¬†Now first birthdays are pretty special…I mean…its when parents get to celebrate that they survived the first year – no mean feat I can tell you as a mum of 4!!!!!

But it’s pretty special for the little person too. ¬†I mean – you never develop quite as much in your years as you do those first few. So a first birthday card has to be special right!!!!

Not only that, but I wanted to create something bright and funky for the CASEing the Catty Monthly Challenge this month! The catalogue is full of inspiration to help us create, CASE or be inspired and the birthday section never disappoints.  The projects that have really caught my eye this year are the fabulous bright colours of the Birthday Fiesta suite and the shaker cards!

So I set about to creating a bright, fun card that my nephew will still love in years to come….and who grows out of shaker cards??? They are always a bit of fun! With our brilliant new foam adhesive strips – making them has become so much easier!

Now I don’t yet have the Festive Birthday Designer Paper, so I had to use a recently retired paper (Cherry on Top) that was just as bright and colourful, and those birthday balloons fit the bill perfectly!

No bones about it, shaker cards, my paper oasis, dinosaurs, first birthday No bones about it, shaker cards, my paper oasis, dinosaurs, first birthday

I totally love the look of this overlay effect!

No bones about it, shaker cards, my paper oasis, dinosaurs, first birthday

It was such a fun card to make.  By using two acetate sheets on either side of the square cut out, you can then stamp the solid image on the background piece inside the card, to get the effect I created here. Just make sure you use stazon black ink for stamping on the acetate sheet in the front.

The best bit was – his whole party was dinosaur themed and I had no idea!!!! So it suited the occasion just perfectly!

So go get crafting…
