Colour INKspiration 41

Welcome to Colour INKspiration 41.

Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month the Colour INKspiration crew create projects with a given colour palette.  You can join in the fun too, by creating your own work of art and uploading the image to our Facebook Page HERE.

This week we are using our Regals Collection to inspire you all.

Choose any three colours from this collection plus any basics for your project.

My project for this week was based on Bronwyn Eastley’s Share What you Love Pocket Card Tutorial but I used the Wonderful Moments Stamp Set.

Colour INKspiration 41 Wonderful Moments Pocket Card by Mel at My Paper Oasis

This card is a great fold and simple to make. Its a bit hard to see but I have used the Tufted Embossing Folder to create a pretty embossed background behind the bride.

I used Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Smokey Slate for my cardstock, and a touch of Crushed Curry from the special release Watercolour Pencils available last month for the brides hair.

I love how this turned out. So much so, we made this very card at class this week!

I hope you liked my project.  If you would like to learn how to create this card fold then pop on over to Bronwyn’s Tutorial store HERE.

Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Tanya Bell and see what she has created for you all.

CTC 192 – Tranquil Textures

Welcome to another week of CASEing the Catty!

CTC 192 – Tranquil Textures

This week we are CASEing the Tranquil Textures section of the Annual Catalogue between pages 154 – 163.

We would love you to play along with the challenge to. So take the hop, create your own project using inspiration from the catalogue images from the given section and then pop a picture of it on our Facebook Page HERE.

This is a gorgeous section of the catty to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit or Copy and Share Everything).  But i couldn’t go past the card on the bottom left below, found on page 157…

I thought it was a great colour combination and not one I would naturally think to use myself, so I had to have a play!

Now I didn’t mess with the design too much at all for this card because I LOVED the texture and layers that the Timeless Textures stamp set created on this card.  Not to mention the gorgeous green!  So my card ended up VERY similar to the original.

Healing Hugs Card

CTC 192 - Tranquil Textures using Healing Hugs by Mel at My Paper Oasis , Stampin Up

I used Granny Apple Green for my card base which is then stamped with one of the textured stamps from Timeless Textures. I also chose to use the rose from Healing Hugs for my card and Crushed Curry, because if you have been following me on Facebook you will know I have been featuring this stamp set heaps lately!!!

I think the overall effect of this card is quite lovely. I hope you do too!

Now its time to hop on over to Judy’s blog and see what she has created this week.

Colour INKspiration 39 – Subtles

Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks Colour INKspiration 39 – Subtles.

For this challenge we are using the subtle colour palette, where you can choose 3 subtle colours plus any basics to create your project.  Remember, once you have created it jump on over to the Colour INKspiration facebook group to upload your pic for the challenge right HERE.

Since our colour shake up in June,  the Subtles collection has by far been my stand out favourite colour group.  There is such a range of pretty, coordinating hues to play with, and Soft Sea Foam is by far one of my stand out colours!

However, today I decided to create my card in hues of blue using my current favourite stamp set – Healing Hugs!

I used a tutorial by the very talented Jennifer McGuire called Stamped see through cards to create tonights card.  I thought Healing hugs and the leaves would work perfectly to create a similar look to the one she creates on her video HERE.

Colour ONKspiration 39 Healing Hugs from Stampin' Up! by Mel at My Paper Oasis

These cards work by layering all the individual pieces together so they slightly overlap, then adhering them, so the card front is see through in the gaps.  It’s quite a clever and effective card and I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

My flowers are coloured using Pool Party ink, the gently using a sponge dauber around the edges to add some Balmy Blue for extra depth. Add a bit of Pear Pizzaz for the leaves and my challenge was complete!

I hope you enjoyed my creation this week.  Don’t forget to upload yours by Monday 20th of August.

Now its time to hop on over to Jackie’s blog to see what she has created!

Happy Crafting everyone!

CTC 190 – Artistic Impressions

Welcome to another week of Caseing The Catty!

 CTC 190 – Artistic Impressions Pages 127 – 141

Every week the design team get together to showcase a section of one of our catalogues to show you just how easy it is to create a project based on a design in the catalogue. You can join in the challenges each week.  Just CASE a project from the selected section and upload a picture of your design by 7pm next Sunday!  Here’s the link to play along:

Caseing the Catty Facebook Page

This is a gorgeous section of the Annual Catalogue.  There’s lots of products I want to get my hands on in here!

Today I decided to CASE the image on page 135 – and from the looks of the teams projects this design has been quite popular!

I changed the orientation of my card, and because I wanted a colour card base, I stamped my images onto Whisper White before fussy cutting them and adhering them to the card.  I then cut around the outline of the images again for the card front.

CTC 190 - Healing Hugs Stamped Card by Mel at My Paper Oasis

I love playing with Healing Hugs, so I knew that the flower was what I wanted to use to create this card. I also combined it with the Stitched Labels Framelits – You NEED those framelits in your crafting stash!  They are amazing!  I stamped two of the flowers in Calypso Coral and the other flower was created by inking up in Daffodil Delight, then sponging the edges with Calypso Coral using an ink dauber.  Its a gorgeous effect that you can use on any flower image.

I hope you enjoyed my project today.  Now it’s time to hop on over to Kathryn’s blog and see what she has created this week!

Colour INKspiration 38

Hi everyone!

Welcome to Colour INKspiration Challenge #38!

What is a Colour INKspiration Challenge I hear you say….well it’s where the design team take a specific colour palette every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, and create a project using those colours.  You can play along too over at our Facebook Group by creating your own project and uploading an image for us all to be inspired by!

Not a member of the group? No Problem…just click HERE and request to join, but make sure you answer those questions first!

For this challenge we are creating with a very pretty colour Palette of Powder Pink; Gray Granite; Berry Burst; Whisper White and Basic Black as inspired by the image below.

I have an upcoming Follow Your Dreams Class, so I decided that was the set I needed to pull out and get playing with for this challenge.  Are you loving all the new catalogue items? Have you found your favourites so far?

Follow Your Dreams

Here is my project for Colour INKspiration 38.

I started by stamping the large dream catcher with versamark and heat embossing with Gold embossing powder.  I then cut out three smaller dream catchers in Powder Pink, Berry Burst and Gray Granite and used the long feathers for my Gold dreamcatcher.  I even added some Tranquil Textures Sprinkles tied on to metallic thread to give my dreamcatcher a 3D feel.  I softly sponged the background using one of the smaller dreamcatcher circles as a mask.

It is a bit of a fiddly card to make, I love how it turned out with all the layers!

Here’s a bit of a closer look for you.

I hope you enjoyed my project.  Now it’s time to hop on over to Kathryn’s blog and see what she has created for you all.

CTC 184 – Delightfully Detailed

Welcome to CTC 184 – Delightfully Detailed

where every Sunday the Design Team Copy and Share or Selectively Edit images from a given section of the catalogue. This week we are CASEing  from pages 38 – 51 of the Annual Catalogue.

This section is full of beautiful inspiration, so it was difficult to know what to CASE, but as it happens – I realised yesterday that I hadn’t created a card like I normally do when my daughter performs.

Yesterday she was staring in Into The Woods Jnr.  I love being able to create an individual card that relates to the performance.

I used the basic layout elements of this card…

I used the basic layout but for mine I used the new Subtle embossing Folder as the background.  I am LOVING this folder for just that bit of texture in the background without overwhelming the images on the card.  And Of course – what better set to use for Into The Woods than our Rooted in Nature Bundle!

Into the Woods Card

My Paper Oasis - CTC 184 Delightfully Detailed using Rooted in Nature

I really like the effect of the Tree Stump stamped on Vellum.  It gives a more subtle appearance on your cards.  And those brilliant embossing dies to create the leaves…whose not loving those!

TheLabeller Alphabet allowed me to create whatever sentiment I wanted!  Don’t you love being able to get as creative as you want!

I hope you enjoyed this weeks project.  Now it’s time to hop on over to Monique and see what she has created for you all!

Colour INKspiration 35

Welcome to

Colour INKspiration 35

where today get to choose 3 colours from our new Neutrals colour palette!

Stampin’ Up! ® has just had a major colour revamp, so to start off the new catalogue year at Colour INKspiration we’ve decided to feature a Colour Collection for the first challenge each month (2nd Wednesday) until we have showcased them all! The second challenge in the month (4th Wednesday) will be a Pinterest inspired pic as per usual just to mix it up a bit. This month we are starting off with the NEUTRALS COLLECTION and you can choose any 3 colours from that range for your challenge project. We are also changing the rules about what else you can add to the mix; essentially just the Basics – Whisper White, Very Vanilla and Basic Black as well as metallics.

Have you managed to have a good look at our changes to the Colour Families yet?  I LOVE the changes to the colour palettes.  I used to be a Regals collection girl, but now I find I fluctuate between the funky Brights Collection and the Pastels of the Subtles collection.  There are so many new possible colour combinations to choose from and create.

For todays colour challenge, the 3 Neutral Colours I chose were Crumb Cake; Soft Suede and Mossy Meadow.

I hadn’t inked up my Rooted in Nature Bundle yet and I have seen some lovely projects with it – so I decided this colour challenge, with it’s earthy tones,  would suit the use of the bundle perfectly!

Rooted In Nature

My Paper Oasis - Colour INKspiration 35 Neutrals Palette using Rooted in Nature by Stampin Up

I stamped some of the tree in the background using the Stamp Off method before stamping the timber onto a piece of Vellum Cardstock, fussy cutting and adhering over the trees so you can still see them in the background.  Another full strength Mossy Meadow Tree for the front of the timber, some Linen Thread and the card front was complete.

I love the effect where you can still see the trees through the vellum layer!

I hope you enjoyed my project tonight.  Now it’s time to continue along the hop to see all the other great projects made just with Neutrals!

Up next is Elizabeth

And don’t forget to join the challenge yourself!  Just create your own project using three neutrals and post a pic to our Facebook Group HERE!

CTC 182 – Tea Room meets Painted Glass

Hello and welcome to CTC 182.  This week we are CASEing the Tea Room section on pages 13 – 25 of the Annual Catalogue.

How exciting that we now get to play with HEAPS of new goodies from the BRAND NEW CATTY!

Are you absolutely loving it?

Tonight I’m excited to be playing along. I barely seemed to have time to create lately, so it was good to get crafting for tonights hop.

There was plenty to choose from in the Tea Room section of the catalogue, but this image in particular grabbed my attention…

This card features the gorgeous Stitched all Around Bundle.  I haven’t got mine yet, but I thought it would be perfect to substitute the design using the Painted Glass Bundle.  So here are my

CTC 182 Tea Room Meets Painted Glass Cards:

My first card uses one of my all time favourite returning colours – Mint Macaron.  The rest of the colours I based on the Designer Series Paper Colours from the Natures Poem DSP including one of our new colours – Petal Pink.

My Paper Oasis - CTC 182 Tea Room meets Painted Glass from Stampin Up

I used the Big Shot Embossing Mats to create the embossed shape on the card base.  These mats are brilliant! You will be able to emboss any of your framelit shapes using these mats to create interesting backgrounds to suit any needs.  The rose from the Painted Glass set is one of my favourite flowers.  For this card I fussy cut the roses as I didn’t have any new Stampin Blends to match my colours for the leaves (They’re on my wish list too!)

My second card I made, as i was truly dying to make a card using the new Soft Sea Foam colour.  Maybe it reminds me a bit of our old Pistachio Pudding – but I love it.  I was a bit stumped at first as to what DSP to use as I don’t have much of that yet either, then I remembered our Wood Textures DSP is carrying over and would really help me achieve the subtle look I was after.

My Paper Oasis - CTC 182 Tea Room meets Painted Glass; Stampin Up

I have to say – I really love how this one turned out! I hope you do to. This bundle has so many possibilities – not just for stained glass looks!

Now its time to hop on over to Elizabeth’s blog and see what she has created.  Don’t forget to hop all the way around and get some new catalogue inspiration!

Don’t forget to play along with the CASEing the Catty Challenge.  Just choose a pic, create your own version and upload it to our Facebook page!

CTC 180 – Favourite Retiring Project

So it’s been a while as I’m sure you will all be aware, but life has been SUPER busy lately!  But I have jumped on board for CTC 180 – Favourite Retiring Project.

Today was no easy decision at all.  Retiring time always brings mixed feelings of sadness saying goodbye to my favourites and anticipation for all the new goodies.  I honestly couldn’t decide which was my absolute favourite for today’s challenge, so I combined a few favourites to create my project today.

I think if I was honest, my absolute favourite retiring item would have to be my Large Number Framelits.  I’m not entirely sure what I am going to do without those….who am I kidding, they haven’t even moved out of my ‘current’ framelits basket to my retired but keeping’ basket yet, so I will continue to use them for a LONG time yet!!!  I truly believe they are a MUST HAVE item!

My other favourites are the Rainbow Builder Framelits and the Myths and Magic Bundle – so I added them all to this project that I created for my niece!

My Paper Oasis - CTC 180 Favourite Retiring Project showing Number Framelits, Rainbow Builder Dies and Myths and Magic

I think this card pretty much sums up my favourite retiring projects!  I will miss all of these products so much!  Lucky for you, you still have a few more days to get your hands on our retiring products before they disappear forever.  I’ve learnt the hard way not to delay or you miss out! Don’t be like me and make sure you place your order before May 31st!

I look forward to sharing some of our new goodies with you in the next CASEing the Catty hops!

Now its time to hop on over to the lovely Monique and see what she will miss the most!

Happy Crafting!

CTC 176 – Favourite Occasions Project Apron of Love

Welcome to CASEing the Catty 176 where each Sunday members of the design team create projects from a given section of the current catalogues to help inspire you to create!

This week we get to create our favourite project from the Occasions Catalogue.

That was a bit of a tricky decision as far as I’m concerned.  There are so many projects to love in the Occasions Catalogue – Myths and Magic, Charming Cafe and Sunshine and Rainbows are just a few of my favourites – and they are all retiring 🙁 So if you love them as much as I do, you will want to get them fast – before they are gone forever!

This week however, I chose to show you just how versatile another one of my favourites is (I told you I had a few! Lol).

Apron of Love for Favourite Occasions

I think this bundle is one of the best bundles ever and is sooooo versatile for so many projects!  I decided to CASE all the images above this week!

My Paper Oasis CTC 176 Apron of Love for Favourite Occasions

With MOther’s Day fast approaching, I started with a more feminine card, but created my own embossed look background Like the ‘dad’ card above.  It is actually so very easy to do as the framelit cuts the 4 utensils all at once, and if you use the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets on your cardstock, you simply peel the backing off once they are cut and adhere them to your cardstock! Simple, quick and effective! My favourite!

My Paper Oasis CTC 176 Apron of Love for Favourite Occasions

For my second project, I decided to make a more masculine card.  This one was super quick to make using mostly our Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  I am so very glad this will carry over to the next catalogue!  My dad loves to BBQ – so this will head off to him on his birthday later this year!

My Paper Oasis CTC 176 Apron of Love for Favourite Occasions

For my final project I decided to recreate the little 3D apron on the page for my class attendees this week.  I followed this simple tutorial on Youtube by World of JenCraft – HERE.  They turned out super cute I think!

The Apron of Love Bundle will carry into our new catalogue – but not with the 10% bundle discount! All ‘discounted bundles’ retire at the end of every catalogue, even if the individual products carry over.  So better be quick and grab that discounted bundle – you’re going to LOVE this set as much as me!

I hope you enjoyed all of tonights projects.  Now it’s time to hop on over to Angela’s blog to see her gorgeous project using one of my other favourites!

Don’t forget to join in the challenge too by creating your own favourite and uploading a picture over on our Facebook Page before next week challenge!

Happy crafting everyone!
