Storage ideas for your bling!

Hi everyone!

The other day, on our team page, a member shared how she was getting frustrated with storing our enamel embellishments as she kept losing them ūüôĀ

Another team member helped her out by sharing how she uses our Standard Stamp Cases to store all her bling. ¬†What an awesome idea I thought! ¬†Why didn’t I think of that! All of my bling in one spot, that would be easy to find and store on my shelves rather than taking up loads of drawer space, getting lost and me ordering more packets because you thought you had none left!

I decided to take mine one step further – and created custom labelled inserts!

CTC #116 – Botanical Builder Inspirational Frame

Hi everyone.  Welcome back to another week of CASEing the Catty.

I do hope you are enjoying the projects of the crew and being inspired to create. You may have come straight here today, or popped over from Kathryn’s blog. ¬†Either way, I hope you hop around and see all the lovely projects and then play along!

This week we are using images from pages 20 – 31 of the Occasions Catalogue to create our projects.

This was a tough week because there is just so much goodness to choose from in those pages! I loved so much of it, but what caught my eye the most was that clock with the Oh so Succulent Suite. ¬†Now I don’t have that suite (yet…) but I have a frame that I have been wanting to create for oh so long!

I was initially inspired by a picture I saw from Debbie Blake at www.nutshellcreations.com Р I used the same frame, but I wanted to use the Project Life cards to make an inspirational frame full of quotes to encourage me each day!

CTC #116 Hello Lovely Project Life Frame by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis, Botanical Builder Framelits, Stampin Up, Inspirational board

Now its very tricky to get a good picture of how good this frame looks with a little bit of decorating using the Botanical Builder Framelit Dies, but it sits on my wall directly opposite to wear I create and I really do read it every day. ¬†I’m so excited to have finally finished it for this weeks CASEing the Catty Challenge. ¬†Although just secretly…I think I may add a few more bits and pieces over time!

Mini Desk Calendar with Lift Me Up Bundle

Hi everyone,

I had lots of fun this week sharing on my Facebook Live video how to make these handy little desktop calendars, that are quick and easy to create! ¬†I used the Lift me Up bundle to decorate them, combined with the stitched shape framelits (don’t you love how those framelits really add pop to your images and backgrounds!)

These are so handy to keep on your desk or by a phone for a quick reference for dates.  I managed to pick up some of these little calendars at a local Papercraft Show, but they can usually be found online if you are looking for some.

And you can get the gorgeous Carried Away Designer Series Paper (DSP) for FREE when you spend $90! That’s as easy as purchasing the Lift Me Up Bundle in clear mount and a pack of Night of Navy Cardstock! You can shop securely anytime in my online store HERE from ANYWHERE in Australia!

Below is the list and measurements of¬†what you need to make your very own calendars and go to My Paper Oasis Youtube channel to see how to create it ūüôā

CTC112 – Cupcakes and Carousels

We are back this week for another CASEing the Catty Challenge! ¬†We have had some fantastic entries over on our Facebook Page – so keep them coming – we are so glad you are enjoying the new way to play along! ¬†This week for our challenge we are taking inspiration form the Cupcakes and Carousel section of the Occasions Catalogue on pages 8 – 13. ¬†Remember, you don’t have to have any of the stamps sets to play along, you just use the images in the catalogue to spur your creativity! It may be the paper, colours used, images, designs or layouts that you use to inspire you to create your project!

I cannot tell you how much I love this suite (I know – I love just about all of them! Lol) – but this suite makes it easy! And it has a real vintage feel about it! I love the DSP paper stack (I just wish they were 12×12!), the colours that are used in the suite and the stamp sets! It made it so easy to create my projects…and I guess I took inspiration from it all!

The one thing that really caught my eye in this picture were the Rosette’s¬†. I used to love making these, but had forgotten about them – until now! So I knew I had to use them for this challenge.

I set about creating a scrapbook page using the Carousel Birthday Set – it came together so quickly for me, which surprised me, because I am not a natural scrapbooker! ¬†It just goes to show…when you have the right products its easier to create!

Do you see the stamped Carousel Horse Image on my page? ¬†I took inspiration from one of the actual papers in the DSP stack- this one –

I love the way they looked, so I made my own.  Its easy to do Рjust stamp your image in the lightest base colour (in this case peekaboo peach) and the ink up other ares using a sponge dauber with your stronger colours (calypso coral and early espresso). See Рeasy and SUPER effective!

I didn’t stop there with this suite either. ¬†I decided to have a bit of fun and made this 3D carousel, well, just because I could, using a large rosette for the roof! And if you are wondering how the centre is made – it’s from our empty ribbon spools – I never throw them out! Lol.

I hope you enjoyed these creations this week!  This suite is LOADS of fun, so I encourage you to have a play and join the challenge.  Simply upload a picture of your creation to the album on the Facebook page HERE.

Now it’s time to hop on over to the wonderful Julia Quinn and see what she has created for you all!

Keep crafting!

Christmas Sampler Shadow Box

Hi Everyone!

I absolutely love how this project has turned out so I had to do another quick share with you this week!!!

I had a special weekend class where the attendees got to make this lovely 12″ x 12″ frame to assist their Christmas Decorating this year. ¬†It was a huge hit! ¬†The ladies even starting embellishing with ‘tinsel’ around the tree, we adhered bells to just about everything, and a load of fun was had! And now it’s hanging in pride of place in my house!

It was sooo hard to get a good picture without the glare! And believe it or not, the sentiment is embossed with the gorgeous new glitter embossing powder! It adds such a sparkle!

I have dressed it up a bit more now with our mini jingle bells and twine! Its a great way to display all those christmas products you have on hand….and if you don’t, why not get together with a friend a share your supplies. But you had better hurry to get your hands on the Candy Cane Lane DSP – as it’s on the Year End Clearout Sale!

Twist and Pop Panel Cards – Wow for any occasion!

Hi everyone!

Well it’s definitely drawing closer to Christmas and the rush is definitely real!

Every year at Christmas, I like to have at least one ‘WOW’ card to give to special people – my nan in particular – she LOVES a special card and has requested that I make one for her daughter (my Aunty) this year.

Now I had seen quite a few of these Twist and Pop Cards for a while – they are currently very popular – so I set about finding a tutorial from someone who had made one. ¬†I came across a few that used a full A4 piece cut and scored and inserted into the card. ¬†But when you are trying to run a class, unless everyone remembers to bring their paper trimmers, its a little impractical and time consuming to have everyone take turns scoring and cutting ¬†their cardstock. ¬†I came across a tutorial from Sincerely Rina. ¬†She made a card using 12″ cardstock. ¬†The majority of my card is A4 size, so I altered my card to that so it could fit in a regular envelope for posting. I made one Christmas design and one birthday design, and my youtube clip is another birthday card design.

This first design was using our Blooms and Bliss DSP and Flourishing Phrases Bundle.

The Christmas design was using the Presents and Pinecones DSP and the Tin of Tags Stamp Set.

You can learn how to create your very own over at my You Tube Channel by clicking here.

Measurements are :

Card Base – A4 cardstock cut on short side at 4 1/8″ (4 1/8″ x 11 3/4″)

Card Panel – 3 1/2″ x 10″ scored at 2 1/2″, 5″, and 7 1/2″ and folded from the left – valley, mountain, valley (mountain fold needs to be in the middle)

Folding Mechanism – 3 1/2″ x 8″ scored on short side at 1 3/4″ and mark on long sides at 2 1/4″ and 5 3/4″

Card front base cardstock – 5 3/8″ x 3 5/8″

Card front DSP – 5 1/8″ x 3 3/8″

Insert squares Cardstock – 3 5/8″ x 3 1/2″

Insert Squares white 3 3/8″ x 3 1/4″

Gift Box Punch Board for On Stage Roomie Gifts

Hi everyone.

I was back on Sunday Night for a Stamp It Sunday live Facebook video again!

It took LOTS of cups of tea to recover from the fun of our Stampin’ Up! 2016 On Stage Live Event from the 3-6th of November, but it was sooooo much fun! ¬†There are lots of new goodies that I am going to enjoy sharing with you all over the coming weeks to get you creating!

Here I am after check in – ready to get started!

img_1572

The weather was gorgeous the entire time. And Southbank was buzzing in the evenings!

So for my Stamp It Sunday Video I decided to show you the pillow gifts I made for my room mates!

I had been to LUSH to source something to help the girls relax, unwind and invigorate themselves ready for the new catalogue and next year. ¬†LUSH have the most amazing bath products. ¬†I had come across one called ‘Dragon’s Egg’ in the past and it smelt amazing, all the things I just mentioned for the girls rolled into one delicious bath bomb! So I grabbed a few of those and headed off to my craft room, trusting that my punch boards would help me package these beauties just right!

So out came the trusty Gift Box Punch Board. I honestly have to say that I love how simple it is to create your own special packaging with these Punch Boards. A simple Belly Band and some ribbon later, and our bath bomb was all set to deliver!

Gift Box Punch Board Pillow Gifts for roomies 2016 On Stage Stampin Up event, by My Paper Oasis. Gift Box Punch Board, gift packaging, gift boxes, simple packaging, boxes for bath bombs.

The Irresistibly Floral Speciality DSP can be teamed with any colour Designer Paper, but I chose Blooms and Bliss for my Belly Band, a bit of Coordinating Sweet Sugarplum ribbon and a tag finished it all off beautifully. So simple – So elegant! And those Stitched Framelits set EVERYTHING off so well! They are a must for every craft room!

Here are the measurements so you can Make It To –

My gift box is a 10″ x 10″ piece of DSP to make the 3.25 x 3.25 x 3.25 box as written on the Punch Board.

The belly band is made my cutting 2 pieces of DSP 1 3/4″ x 7″ and scoring them both at 1/2″, 2 1/4″ and 5 1/2″.

Join the pieces along the 1/2″ end – joining right sides together. Punch the opposite end of both of the Belly Band pieces using the scallop tag topper punch. ¬†Wrap around your box and secure with ribbon.

Take a look at the video at My Paper Oasis You Tube Channel to watch how its done.
