Colour INKspiration 12 – Crafting Forever

Hi everyone! I’m so glad you can join us for Colour INKspiration Challenge 12!

We have so loved seeing all your entries into the challenges every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month over at our Facebook Page!  So please, keep them coming!

This week we have a HUGE colour palette for you to play with!

I told you it was a HUGE! Lol.

This week – choose at least 4 of the colours to play with from the selection of:

Whisper White; Night of Navy; Elegant Eggplant; Cherry Cobbler; Flirty Flamingo; Dapper Denim; Smokey Slate and Peekaboo Peach.

As always, Neutrals and metallics are allowed in your creations too ūüôā

As there were lots of colours to choose from this week, I thought it would be the perfect time to create an idea I have had playing around in my head for the longest time, using the brand new Crafting Forever Stamp Set.

I have had the idea to create that little pot in 3D and stuff it full of the craft equipment in the set – just like what most of us have on our own desks – just like mine….

So thats what I set about doing.  Creating a little pot just like I hang from my raskcog trolley! I managed to use every colour in the palette apart from Elegant Eggplant and I was pretty happy with how this card turned out.

And that sentiment…well let’s just say it definitely suits me! Lol. I would much prefer to be hiding away in my craft room, creating, ¬†than slaving over housework!

The card is a step card fold. I found a very easy tutorial to follow over at Splitcoast Stampers.

Now its time to pop on over to the lovely Monique and see what she has created for you all!

Happy Crafting

CTC 132 – Birthdays

A big hello to you all and welcome to CASEing the Catty Challenge #132, where this week we get to CASE the birthday section of the catalogue!

Everyone has birthdays (whether they want to or not! Lol), so this is a great way to hop around and see everyone’s projects so creating your own birthday cards is a breeze!

I had to create a special 50th birthday card this week for a friend. ¬†Not only is she a friend, but she is also my downline and loves card making too (Yes Lynda – this one is for you!). ¬†I don’t know about you, but I find they are always the trickiest people to create cards for! And a 50th has to be a pretty special card.

I was struggling with just what to create, when I picked up my catalogue and started flicking through the birthday section. ¬†On page 80 I came across this image …

Now I know it’s not exactly a birthday card, but I love 3D cards for those ‘special’ birthdays – so this got me thinking and playing around with ideas, when my mind was drawn back to a gorgeous creation I had seen by none other than one of our very own crew members – Bronwyn Eastley! ¬†She had made a stunning foldable card using the (now retired) Botanical Blooms and the Window Box Dies.

You can see her original post HERE with the link to see how the card is made.

As much as I love those Botanical Blooms, I wanted to use one of my most favourite floral current products – Tranquil Tulips (yes…again…)!

CTC 132 - Birthdays by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Hostess Set Tranquil Tulips by Stampin' Up!

If there is one downfall with this set – its that there is no matching framelits ūüôĀ So let me tell you ….there was a LOT of fussy cutting! ¬†It’s just as well that I actually like to fussy cut (just ask my class ladies! Some are not so fond of it as me! Lol). You will definitely need a good pair of scissors for this one!

There was even more fussy cutting than you would expect, because I made the tulips appear more 3D by cutting and adhering the top layer of the stamp on the front of each image.

CTC 132 - Birthdays by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using hostess set Tranquil Tulips by Stampin' Up!

It looked sooooo pretty in real life! I was really happy with how it turned out! And – it folds flat for popping in an envelope and posting!

Did you know that Stampin’ Up! have an extra special opportunity to get this Hostess set this month? ¬†Host a qualifying workshop, party or place and order of $450 and you get an EXTRA $45 in rewards! That’s at total of at least $90 to spend on anything you like!!! Contact your local demonstrator to find out more!

Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Kelly Kent and see what beautiful project she has to share with you all!

Happy Crafting!!!!

CTC 128 – Favourite Kit

Hi everyone.  I seemed to have been MIA the past couple of weeks as I prepared for the Picture to Page show in Pakenham.  But I am back this week for another awesome CTC Challenge!  This week we get to CASE our Favourite Kit from any Catalogue!

I do have a couple of favourite kits in the catalogue Рespecially the Watercolour Wishes Card Kit. But for todays hop РI decided to try something a little different.  I have always liked the Perfectly Wrapped Kit on page 159 in the current Annual Catalogue, but it was one of those kits I never actually got around to purchasing!

I thought it was such a bright fun kit, and just a bit different to our usual kits with all its fun packaging.  I had so much fun creating for this challenge!  I had never thought to CASE a kit before!

So today, being Mother’s Day in Australia, I thought all that cute packaging may just come in handy for some lovely little gifts!

I used the Grateful Bunch stamp set and Blossom Bunch Punch to base¬†my mini kit around. ¬†I am just a bit sad this set is retiring! I loved the lace and the triple flowers that you could layer together were so quick and easily … not to mention that is my most favourite butterfly …. sob…

Anyway – here is what I came up with!

CTC 128 Favourite Kit Projects by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Stampin' Up! Grateful Bunch and Blooms and Bliss DSP

I created the gift bag by using our Kraft Tag a Bags (also retiring).  I simply stamped the bag, folded the base and adhered the corners underneath to create an open bag.

The Clear Tiny Treat Box was simply decorated with some hand stamped Whisper White card, scored and folded for inside the box, with a belly band wrapped around and a cluster of flowers popped on the top.

And instead of creating the cello bags РI CASEd the design and turned it into a card to suit the occasion!

The sentiments from this suite really do go well with the Mother’s Day theme. ¬†I hope that where ever you are today, and whom ever you consider your ‘babies’, that you are having an amazing day! Every woman is fabulous and deserves to be treated special xx

Don’t forget – you can play along too by simply adding your photo to the CTC 128 album on our Facebook page HERE.

Now its time to pop around to see what the rest of the crew have created for you.

Next on the hop is the amazing Julia Quinn!

Happy Stamping!!!

CTC 125 – Favourite Bigshot Project!

Hi crafty friends and welcome!

It’s Sunday night, so that means it’s time for another CASEing the Catty blog hop. ¬†I’m pretty excited about this weeks challenge! ¬†We get to showcase our favourite Big Shot project from the occasions catalogue!

How hard was it to choose! I mean, the Occasions Catalogue had so many great Big Shot projects. ¬†The Lift Me Up Bundle, Custom Tee’s, Nailed It, So Succulent Bundle and not to mention the So Detailed Thinlets, Cool Treats and Dragonfly Dreams!

But for me – well, let’s just say that I am an absolute sucker for a box – so my choice for this weeks challenge just had to be the Window Box Die.

I had seen a picture from Pauline Barnfather at icreatecraft, who had designed a timber like box. I immediately fell in love with it and have been wanting to create my own version since. So this was my chance.  I really wanted to create an antique style box, that reminded me a little of an old jewellery box.  Some Soft Suede cardstock stamped with the Hardwood stamp helped me easily achieve that!

CTC125 Antique Window Box design by My Paper Oasis, stampin up, flower shop

I am so happy with the way it turned out. ¬†Once I created the box I knew it needed some beautiful flowers to top it off. ¬†I haven’t created these flowers for a few years now, so it was fun to really play and make¬†them again. ¬†I used the Flower Shop stamp and co-ordinating punch to create them. ¬†Here’s a better look¬†at the top for you.

CTC125 Antique Window Box design by My Paper Oasis, stampin up, flower shop

Luckily I had kept hold of my retired Antique Brads from a couple of years ago.  I think it really enhances the antique feel of the box perfectly and acts like a little handle to lift the lid open!

You can take a look at how I created these flowers, with my You Tube Link,  at this post Р3D Flower Making.

I hope you have enjoyed tonight’s project. ¬†Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Judy May and see what beautiful project she has created for you!

Storage ideas for your bling!

Hi everyone!

The other day, on our team page, a member shared how she was getting frustrated with storing our enamel embellishments as she kept losing them ūüôĀ

Another team member helped her out by sharing how she uses our Standard Stamp Cases to store all her bling. ¬†What an awesome idea I thought! ¬†Why didn’t I think of that! All of my bling in one spot, that would be easy to find and store on my shelves rather than taking up loads of drawer space, getting lost and me ordering more packets because you thought you had none left!

I decided to take mine one step further – and created custom labelled inserts!

CTC #116 – Botanical Builder Inspirational Frame

Hi everyone.  Welcome back to another week of CASEing the Catty.

I do hope you are enjoying the projects of the crew and being inspired to create. You may have come straight here today, or popped over from Kathryn’s blog. ¬†Either way, I hope you hop around and see all the lovely projects and then play along!

This week we are using images from pages 20 – 31 of the Occasions Catalogue to create our projects.

This was a tough week because there is just so much goodness to choose from in those pages! I loved so much of it, but what caught my eye the most was that clock with the Oh so Succulent Suite. ¬†Now I don’t have that suite (yet…) but I have a frame that I have been wanting to create for oh so long!

I was initially inspired by a picture I saw from Debbie Blake at www.nutshellcreations.com Р I used the same frame, but I wanted to use the Project Life cards to make an inspirational frame full of quotes to encourage me each day!

CTC #116 Hello Lovely Project Life Frame by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis, Botanical Builder Framelits, Stampin Up, Inspirational board

Now its very tricky to get a good picture of how good this frame looks with a little bit of decorating using the Botanical Builder Framelit Dies, but it sits on my wall directly opposite to wear I create and I really do read it every day. ¬†I’m so excited to have finally finished it for this weeks CASEing the Catty Challenge. ¬†Although just secretly…I think I may add a few more bits and pieces over time!

CTC112 – Cupcakes and Carousels

We are back this week for another CASEing the Catty Challenge! ¬†We have had some fantastic entries over on our Facebook Page – so keep them coming – we are so glad you are enjoying the new way to play along! ¬†This week for our challenge we are taking inspiration form the Cupcakes and Carousel section of the Occasions Catalogue on pages 8 – 13. ¬†Remember, you don’t have to have any of the stamps sets to play along, you just use the images in the catalogue to spur your creativity! It may be the paper, colours used, images, designs or layouts that you use to inspire you to create your project!

I cannot tell you how much I love this suite (I know – I love just about all of them! Lol) – but this suite makes it easy! And it has a real vintage feel about it! I love the DSP paper stack (I just wish they were 12×12!), the colours that are used in the suite and the stamp sets! It made it so easy to create my projects…and I guess I took inspiration from it all!

The one thing that really caught my eye in this picture were the Rosette’s¬†. I used to love making these, but had forgotten about them – until now! So I knew I had to use them for this challenge.

I set about creating a scrapbook page using the Carousel Birthday Set – it came together so quickly for me, which surprised me, because I am not a natural scrapbooker! ¬†It just goes to show…when you have the right products its easier to create!

Do you see the stamped Carousel Horse Image on my page? ¬†I took inspiration from one of the actual papers in the DSP stack- this one –

I love the way they looked, so I made my own.  Its easy to do Рjust stamp your image in the lightest base colour (in this case peekaboo peach) and the ink up other ares using a sponge dauber with your stronger colours (calypso coral and early espresso). See Рeasy and SUPER effective!

I didn’t stop there with this suite either. ¬†I decided to have a bit of fun and made this 3D carousel, well, just because I could, using a large rosette for the roof! And if you are wondering how the centre is made – it’s from our empty ribbon spools – I never throw them out! Lol.

I hope you enjoyed these creations this week!  This suite is LOADS of fun, so I encourage you to have a play and join the challenge.  Simply upload a picture of your creation to the album on the Facebook page HERE.

Now it’s time to hop on over to the wonderful Julia Quinn and see what she has created for you all!

Keep crafting!
