Framed Christmas Tree using Green Sprigs

A big hello you to you!

I thought I would at least sneak in one more Christmas project post before the man in the Big Red Suit arrives!

That way you can either recreate this project in time for Christmas, or get an early start on next years decorating and pick up the Green Sprigs from the Year End Sales before they have all gone!

My project today is CASEd from the cover of our Stampin’ Success Magazine.  That’s our quarterly demonstrator magazine, full of loads of ideas and tips for products and getting the most out of being a demonstrator!

The cover has the image of a mini Christmas Tree using our Green Sprigs available in the current Holiday Catalogue (but not for much longer at all! They are only available until January 2nd, 2018).

Framed Christmas Tree Project by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

This was a fun project to make and was really quite quick to put together.

I have used a now retired Christmas Stamp Set called Wonderful You as I wanted a big sentiment with bold font.  The Stampin’ Success magazine used Carols of Christmas, but you could use any stamp set really.  I also added some of our retired Gold Sequin Trim for a bit of bling.  The larger sequins stood out more than our current Mini Sequin Trim (- although some aren’t visible in the picture). And I simply slipped the sequins over one of the pieces in the Green Sprigs, not adhesive involved.  I also added a double bow using our Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon.  The background sheet is of course a piece of the Merry Music Designer Series Paper, which will also be retiring.  The stick – well thats from my front yard! Lol.

You will definitely need your hot glue gun for this project, to secure the sprigs and the stick.  You will only need one pack of Green Sprigs to create each tree.  I found it easiest to position everything first, then adhere the sprigs, beginning at the base of the tree and work my way up.  The last 3 sprigs are overlaid through the middle to hide any gaps.

I’m really pleased with how it turned out!  What do you think?

I would love to take this opportunity to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year!

Thank you all for continuing to follow my blog and support me!  It means so much to be able to share what I love!

If you would like to create this project too – make sure to pop on over to the Year End Sale by clicking the image below :

I’m really looking forward to playing with my new Occasions Catalogue products over the coming weeks and sharing them with you all!  You won’t be disappointed in whats on offer! If you don’t have a catalogue, live in Australia but don’t have a regular demonstrator, just pop me a message and I can send one out to you!

Happy Christmas Crafting!

CTC159 – Any Holiday Project with Brightly Lit Christmas

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to this weeks CASEing the Catty blog hop!  We are up to challenge CTC 159 and can CASE anything from the Holiday Catalogue this week!  Such choice!

I am a bit excited to share this weeks project with you all for 2 reasons.

Firstly – because I get to showcase one of my favourite Holiday Catalogue Items – the Brightly Lit Christmas Bundle!  I really am a sucker for dies that aren’t that common to find, and I know this set will be useful for all kinds of projects and cards – not just for Christmas.  It’s one of those sets that would really help create an entire scene for lots of occasions with it’s beautiful lamp posts!  It’s also on our retiring list – so it won’t be around for much longer 🙁

Secondly – Because I have FINALLY managed to finish my Christmas Cards!  And not a moment too soon I might add!  I love adding a Christmas Card to my New Catalogue mail out for the Occasion’s Catalogue and they are ready to be posted this week!!! So if you don’t have a demonstrator, live in Australia, and would love a copy of the New Catalogue, simply send me an email using the ‘Contact Me’ form and I will pop one in the post for you 🙂

Tonight I am CASEing the card at the very top of the boxes!

So here is my Brightly Lit Christmas Card for you all!

CTC 159 - Brightly Lit Christmas Card by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis with measurements

I really wanted to show off some of our Merry Music DSP without obscuring the lamp post, so I created panels for this card to do just that.  and of course being Christmas, it needed at least a bit of sparkle – so our Foil Snowflakes sorted that for me too!

Here’s a Gold Version:

These colours are not colours I would traditionally use or choose for a Christmas card, but I think they work quite well together and I love how the Merry Music DSP has Christmas Sheet Music so had to show that off too!

But I have to say – the one item that REALLY rescued me when creating such a stack of these cards was our Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets! These sheets were new in this years Annual Catalogue. I simply attached a piece to the back of a piece of black cardstock before running the dies through the bigshot.  It was then simply a matter of peeling away the backing paper and adhering the lamp pieces directly to the cardstock!  Oh. My. Goodness. What a time saver!  Seriously – if you haven’t tried it yet – you really need to! Especially for the more intricate pieces that you need to adhere!  No messy tombow fingers at all!

CTC 159 - Brightly Lit Christmas Card by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis with measurements

Here are the measurements if you would like to create your own version:

Merry Music DSP – 5 5/8″ x 2″

Basic Black Card – 5 5/8″ x 2″

Whisper White Layer – 5 3/8″ x 1 3/4″

Cut your Foil Snowflakes in half and adhere to Merry Music DSP before adding the Basic Black layer, which will overlap slightly.

Such an unusual combination of colours – but don’t they work so well together!

Tranquil Tide; Pool Party; Cherry Cobbler and Blushing Bride

are your colours for this weeks challenge.

I thought I had better get some Christmas momentum happening for this challenge, given that I am sooooo far behind in my Christmas card making this year – like – ridiculously behind!  I can see a lot of late nights looming ahead 🙁  I used Bronwyn Eastley’s Coffee Cafe Easel Card Tutorial for my project tonight.  I just couldn’t resist! After making a Vase with this design a few weeks ago – I was dying to try out a 3D Christmas Tree Card. So here it is…

Colour INKspiration 24 - 3D Christmas Tree by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

I love a good 3D project, and the Tree from the Ready for Christmas Bundle suited this project perfectly.  Unfortunately it’s retiring at the end of the year – so you need to get it before it’s gone for good 🙁 The little birds are cut from the Tree Builder Punch.  And wasn’t I lucky that our new Stampin Blends have the matching colours to this weeks challenge!

CTC 158 – Case a project from the page thats your age

Well hello everyone! Have we got a fun CASEing the Catty for you tonight!  Tonight we get to CASE a project form the page that’s your age! Lol.  And it can be from any catalogue!  We also had a disclaimer clause that we could use the page that is the age we would like to be!!!

How much fun is this weeks challenge going to be! I can’t wait to see all your projects as you play along for this one!

I decided this week be brave and CASE a project from the page that was my actual age!  So over on page 43 of the Annual Catalogue you will find the design that I CASED this week –

I CASED the layout from the little notebook on the left hand side.  Initially I was going to use the same coloured DSP from the Colour Theory Suite, but then I completely changed my mind, pulling out the yet to be used Petal Garden DSP Stack instead!

I kept the same basic layout and used the Tabs for Everything Stamp set for my sentiment and created this card instead…

CTC 158 - A page thats your age using Petal Gardens DSP by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

As you can see, I changed up the colours and imagery, but kept the basic layout the same.  I don’t think I use our Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate anywhere near enough!!!!

Here’s a bit more of a close up for you so you can really see the elements!

CTC 158 - A page that's your age using Petal Garden by Mel Pagano at My paper Oasis

The Petal Garden DSP has some really beautiful floral imagery, and those roses were fussy cut straight from a piece of it!  How easy is that!

I really do enjoy the variations you can create simply by CASEing a project from the catalogue and changing a few elements!

I can’t wait to see what you do with this challenge this week!

Now it’s time to hop on over to Angela’s page and see what her age…oops…project is this week 😉

Then don’t forget to come back and play along with your own project. Simply post a pic over on our Facebook Group –

Merry Labels Treat Tubes

Hi everyone!

As the year draws to a close, I thought it would be a great time to highlight some of my favourite items soon to retire from the Holiday catalogue whilst I help you get your Christmas Cheer on!

Today I wanted to show you a super quick and easy little gift you can make using the Merry Labels Bundle and the Treat Tubes!

I’m calling them my Merry Labels Treat Tubes! Because well….why not! Lol

Merry Labels Treat Tubes for Christmas Gifts by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis

These Treat Tubes had to be one of my all time favourites in the Holiday Catalogue.  You can use them for so many things from Halloween to thank you’s to Christmas.

These are super easy to make because they fit  M&M ‘s perfectly inside the tube. And how easy is it to create a Christmas feel once you add some festive colours!

I teamed with a little label from the Merry Little Labels Bundle and simply tied them on using the Quilted Christmas 1/4″ Ribbon.

Nothing hard about that – I promise.  How great would these be for your kids friends for a Christmas Treat at school break up, or as place settings on your Christmas table or as a table centrepiece. You could even add a loop at with the Metallic Threads and hang them from your Christmas Tree!  That would look sooooooo good!

I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy project!

Remember, all of these items are retiring and are part of the Year End Sales event, so they won’t be around for long!

Just click on the Year End Sales banner below to take you directly there and start getting Christmas sorted!

Ready for Christmas Four Fold Card

Hi everyone!

I do hope you have all been able to squeeze in some crafty time during the madness that is December!  Life gets so hectic at this time of the year! It’s also so hard to believe we have reached the end of another year!  Is it just that they go faster as you get older?

I wanted to pop past today to share with you all a project that we created at my recent Our Inky Oasis Team Christmas Breakup!  They are always a bit of fun for everyone and we always complete a project.

This year we created a Four Fold Panel Card.  The original idea I saw was by Lyssa Zwalonek and you can see her post HERE.

I turned mine into a Christmas theme by using the At Home with You Bundle and the Ready for Christmas Bundle which will be retiring at the end of the current Holiday Catalogue. Bundles are always a bonus as you get a 10% discount when purchasing them!  Who doesn’t love that!

Here is the card we created… my Ready for Christmas Four Panel Fold Card.

This is the very front of the card using the At Home with you Bundle.  The rest of the card is created using the Ready for Christmas Bundle.

It’s not a card for the faint hearted, but it is so very effective!  I love how it turned out! It’s like being in someone’s house Ready for Christmas!

I altered my card inserts slightly as I wanted all the bases to line up nicely and as a Merry Christmas Gift to you all, I am including the tutorial for this project right here for you to download, so you can create your own special Christmas Scene. Just click on the link below 🙂

Don’t forget –  the Ready for Christmas Bundle is retiring at the end of the month and is included in the current Year End Sales Event!

CTC 157 – Case a Colour Combination

Hi Happy Crafters!

Well nutty season has hit! Hands up if you ave finished creating your stash of Christmas cards yet – Yeah me neither! Lol.  I am bound to get there eventually.  I just need everything to STOP first, so I can sit and create and write and address and post them!

So because it’s not like I’m in a hurry to do that or anything … I decided to create something for CTC 157 instead – where this weeks challenge is to CASE (Copy and Share Everything or Selectively Edit) any Colour Combination in any Catalogue.

Despite needing to complete lots more Christmas cards, I decided not to do Christmas at all.  I have had a beautiful friends birthday this past week – so I created for her instead!  I wanted the card to be a bit more special than usual, so I called upon Bronwyn Eastley’s Tutorials to help me along.

Ever since I saw Bronwyn’s Coffee Cafe Easel Card I knew that I had wanted to try it with a vase, which would also be perfect for my friend’s birthday too and to top it off – the catalogue had the perfect colour combination for me to CASE. Don’t you love days you feel like you’re winning!

Here is the Colour Combination I decided to CASE.  You can find it on Page 28 of the current Annual Catalogue.

I love the simple colours, and it even helped me design my card!

So here is my version of Bronwyn’s Coffee Cafe Easel Card using the Jar of Love Framelits!

My Jar of Love Easel Card!

CTC 157 Jar of Love Easel Card by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis.

Now I can’t share how to actually create the easel – you’ll need Bronwyn’s tutorial for that!  But I can tell you that to get the variance in colours for your flowers, use the stamping off method.  That means you can get more use out of your available colours.  Each colour used here is only one ink pad.

To use the stamp off technique simply ink up your image in your chosen colour, stamp it once on to a scrap piece of paper (our Grid Paper is perfect for this), then, without inking your image stamp it again onto your card stock.  This will give you a ‘lighter’ version of the same colour.  The next image you stamp as normal, giving you the full colour strength.  It really does help you get more use out of your colours!

When creating my card, I really wanted it to give the impression of a vase of flowers on a little doily, like you would find on a table.  I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I think it could even be used as a decorative piece at home.

I hope you enjoyed my project tonight!

If you would like to take a look at how to make this card then you can hop on over to ADDinktive Designs HERE to purchase the tutorial!

Now it’s time to hop on over to the lovely Fi and see what she has created for you all!

Don’t forget you to can play along with our challenges every week.  Create your own project and post a pic on our Facebook Group right HERE.
