CTC 130 – Favourite Project – Occasions Catalogue

Hello and welcome back to CASEing the Catty Challenge #130!

I do hope you take the time to hop around and see everyone’s creations and then create your very own masterpiece!  Don’t forget to pop on over to our Facebook page, upload your project and join in the challenge for the week! We love to see everyone’s ideas and inspiration!

This week we get to CASE our favourite project from the Occasions Catalogue.

I absolutely love that we can CASE ANYTHING, but it does make it difficult with just so many projects to choose from!  I have a few standout items in the 2017 Occasions Catalogue – The Nailed It Bundle, Carousel Birthday, Cool Treats and the Window Box Dies – just to name a few!  Don’t forget that lots of items are retiring in this catalogue and you only have 3 …YES …3 days left to get your hands on them!

For the challenge today, I picked one of my all time favourites!  The Beautiful You Stamp set.

I have used this stamp set HEAPS and was very happy to see it continuing in to the Brand New catalogue!  You can achieve so many looks with this stamp set and cards for so many occasions.  The sentiments suit lots of occasions and you can stamp, watercolour or paper piece those gorgeous ladies!  It’s super versatile, and that is one of the reasons I love it!

So for this project I took these images off cards and popped them into a frame!

The stamp designed to fill the dress and the skirt give a real arty feel about them, and I watercolored the rest.  Do you spy the new colour??? It’s the new Berry Burst and you can get your very own when the new catalogue launches on the 1st of June!  The sentiment I chose is dear to my heart and had to be included … my dad used those same words in his speech on my wedding day!

I would love to know what you think of my project – so feel free to leave a comment for me 🙂

Now it’s time to hop on over to Rachel’s and see what she has created for you all!

Colour INKspiration #10

A big hello to you all!

Welcome back to another Colour INKspiration!  You may be popping over from the lovely Rebecca Scurr, or starting right here! So have a hop around and then come back and create your own masterpiece! We are loving seeing your fabulous creations on our Facebook page – so keep them rolling in!

I am glad to be back this week after missing the last one.  Going to Picture to Page in Pakenham and then having a Biggest Morning Tea Event really kept me very busy!  And as Colour Challenges are my favourite kinds of challenges, I was a bit sad to have missed it!!!

But this week’s Challenge I found just a little bit tougher than usual!

Our colour palette this week are gorgeous Autumn / Wintery Hues with Cajun Craze (yes, dust it off!), Island Indigo, Smokey Slate and Delightful Dijon (retiring colour).

So I set to work creating some Autumn / Wintery cards to set these colours off.  My first card I had a bit of fun playing around with the Shaving Foam Technique again.  It’s a great way to mix a few co-ordinating colours and make those stunning backgrounds.  You can watch my video over at my You Tube Channel HERE to learn how to create your own.

Colour INKspiration #10 by Mel pagano at My Paper Oasis using Colourful Seasons Bundle

I mixed Island Indigo, Cajun Craze and Smokey Slate re inkers into my shaving foam for the background.  I love all the leaves falling from trees in Autumn.  The bright reds and soft yellows!  So I stamped the leaves in Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon.  I lightly sponged the tips of the Delightful Dijon leaves in Cajun Craze to give them an Autumn feel.  I also used the matching framelits to cut a leaf in Delightful Dijon, and then sponged the edges in Cajun Craze, and I then topped this one off with some our fine tip glue pen to really make it stand out!

Colour Inkspiration #10 by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Stampin' Up!s Colourful Seasons Bundle

The sentiments from the Colourful Seasons Stamp set are just stunning!

I then went on to have a bit more of a play, with a card type I don’t normally do, but I thought I would show you the ned result anyway…because sometimes its all about the learning as we play!

I would love to know what you think, so feel free to leave a comment to let me know!

I do hope you are going to make some time to be inspired and play along too 🙂

Now it’s time to hop on over to Nicole Wilson and see what she has created to inspire you all!

Happy Creating everyone!

Don’t forget – there is only 7 days left to stock up on your retired goodies before they are gone forever 🙁

CTC 129 – Favourite Project – Annual Catalogue

Welcome back to another week of CASEing the Catty!

This week we get to CASE our favourite Project from the Annual Catalogue!  I was like…wwwwhhhhhhhhaaaatttttttt???????

With all those great projects how on earth are you supposed to choose?

Well to help me decide I went back to what caught my eye when I very first got to see the catalogue!  There were two things that really stood out to me and I wanted NOW!  The Foxy Friends Suite and the Baby Bear Stamp.  But the project that really caught my eye was this one….

Found on Page 90, that tiny fox really caught my attention!  It took me a little while to actually find where the little fox came from, but I eventually found it in the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack (slapped forehead! )

I love the layout on the box and all the layered elements, so this is what I decided to create for you this week….on a card!

CTC 129 Favourite Project in Annual Catalogue with Mel pagano from My Paper Oasis, using Foxy Friends Suite from Stampin' Up!

It looks so adorable on a card, and I added the extra layer of white with our Layering Circle Dies just to help it stand out a little more from the Calypso Coral Background! Sooooooo Cute for a baby card – and you could make the matching gift box too.

So as I had made a ‘pink’ one….I decided I definitely needed to make a ‘blue’ one too!

CTC129 Favourite Project from Annual Catalogue with Mel Pagano from My Paper Oasis using Foxy Friends Suite from Stampin' Up!

I hope you too use the catalogue for your inspiration.  With so many wonderful projects, it makes creating your own version extra easy!  And don’t forget – this gorgeous paper stack from this suite is retiring as are the Baby’s First Framelits and the sequin trims.  You only have 10 more days to get your retiring items before they are gone 🙁

Now its time to hop on over to Monique’s page and see what her favourite project is from the Annual Catalogue!

Shaving Foam Technique

Hi Everyone!

Today I’m back to share my Stamp it Sunday Facebook Live video on how to create brilliant background using the Shaving Foam Technique!

It’s so simple, so messy and so fun! And just take a look at the stunning backgrounds you can create.  The skies the limits with hundreds of potential colour combinations!

Here is my favourite so far!

Shaving Foam Technique by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set by Stampin Up

My boys actually choose these colours – My youngest said his favourites are Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo, then they choose some of the new Powder Pink!  It matched the Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set beautifully.  I was lucky enough to win this at the demonstrator On Stage event! I was one very happy girl!  This one was created with a lovely friend and downline in mind and it has already been sent to it’s new home!

Shaving Foam Technique by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Daisy Delight from Stampin Up

These two were created using Wisteria Wonder, Flirty Flamingo and our new Lemon Lime Twist reinkers!  Teamed with our Daisy Delight bundle to create some lovely Gerber’s.  You can highlight different colours from your batch of shaving foam.  These two still need sentiments which I will save until the right occasion arises!

Shaving Foam Technique by Mel Pagano from My paper Oasis using Scenic Sayings from Stampin Up

Great for smaller card with big bold sentiments…

Or use the patterned card to create your embellishments!

So many variations! I encourage you to try it!

You will need:

-shaving cream (cheapest one will do)

-something to squirt your shaving cream in to (I used a plastic plate)

-reinkers in colours of choice

-something to swirl your colours

-something to scrape the foam (i used an old iTunes card)

-whisper white cardstock

Take a look at my You Tube Video to see exactly how it is done over at My Paper Oasis.

And then go get messy and have some fun.

CTC 128 – Favourite Kit

Hi everyone.  I seemed to have been MIA the past couple of weeks as I prepared for the Picture to Page show in Pakenham.  But I am back this week for another awesome CTC Challenge!  This week we get to CASE our Favourite Kit from any Catalogue!

I do have a couple of favourite kits in the catalogue – especially the Watercolour Wishes Card Kit. But for todays hop – I decided to try something a little different.  I have always liked the Perfectly Wrapped Kit on page 159 in the current Annual Catalogue, but it was one of those kits I never actually got around to purchasing!

I thought it was such a bright fun kit, and just a bit different to our usual kits with all its fun packaging.  I had so much fun creating for this challenge!  I had never thought to CASE a kit before!

So today, being Mother’s Day in Australia, I thought all that cute packaging may just come in handy for some lovely little gifts!

I used the Grateful Bunch stamp set and Blossom Bunch Punch to base my mini kit around.  I am just a bit sad this set is retiring! I loved the lace and the triple flowers that you could layer together were so quick and easily … not to mention that is my most favourite butterfly …. sob…

Anyway – here is what I came up with!

CTC 128 Favourite Kit Projects by Mel Pagano at My Paper Oasis using Stampin' Up! Grateful Bunch and Blooms and Bliss DSP

I created the gift bag by using our Kraft Tag a Bags (also retiring).  I simply stamped the bag, folded the base and adhered the corners underneath to create an open bag.

The Clear Tiny Treat Box was simply decorated with some hand stamped Whisper White card, scored and folded for inside the box, with a belly band wrapped around and a cluster of flowers popped on the top.

And instead of creating the cello bags – I CASEd the design and turned it into a card to suit the occasion!

The sentiments from this suite really do go well with the Mother’s Day theme.  I hope that where ever you are today, and whom ever you consider your ‘babies’, that you are having an amazing day! Every woman is fabulous and deserves to be treated special xx

Don’t forget – you can play along too by simply adding your photo to the CTC 128 album on our Facebook page HERE.

Now its time to pop around to see what the rest of the crew have created for you.

Next on the hop is the amazing Julia Quinn!

Happy Stamping!!!
