I’ve got to tell you – this card was soooooo much fun to make!
I had the idea in my head for quiet a while, and when I finally got around to putting in on paper, I was pretty pleased with the result! It was a bit fiddly and I had to make a few adjustments along the way, but I got there in the end.
For a fairy card, I decided I wanted something a little ‘magical’. Just a bit special and unlike other cards. Our gorgeous Fairy Celebration made the ‘fairy’ part simple. The toadstool was simply made with the door from our In this World stamp set, and the top was cut using our older circle framelits with a smaller circle punched and adhered multiple times on the top – don’t forget to give the smaller circles a quick flick using Wink of Stellar Clear!
The door was the tricky part! I fussy cut the door – leaving an extra 1/2″ along the left side of the door, to act as a hinge. I had to position it on the white card stock, trace around it lightly, and then cut out that piece. I then slipped the door hinge through the gap and adhered it to the white card underneath. I stuck my toadstool head on and the from the back of the card, sliced through the top so the door would open 🙂
You then simply make the rest of the card like you would any other shaker card. I adhered the littlest fairy inside where the door would open and added glitter and sequins for ‘fairy dust’. It’s super cute! My niece got this one for her birthday. I hope you like it as much as she did 😉
